The book titled Studies on Bangla and Dravidian is a collection of twelve articles, three of which were presented at the seminar Commonness and Divergences in Bengali and Dravidian held at Thiruvananthapuram on 28th March, 2014 and the rest are papers presented in the Special Session on Bengali and Dravidian at the 42nd All India Conference of Dravidian Linguists, Kuppam from 19th to 21st June, 2014. The papers presented in the seminar at ISDL campus, Thiruvananthapuram and the papers presented at the DLA Conference Kuppam are of two types: 1) related to Bangla and Dravidian and 2) related to Bangla and other languages (non-Dravidian). This book contains papers related to Bangla and Dravidian. The editors have gone through each and every article and have made necessary changes wherever required. I thank them for their sincere efforts in editing the work. I also express my heartfelt thanks to the authors of the articles for their scholarly contributions and also for their whole hearted co-operation in bringing out this book without much delay. I am very much indebted to Dr. K.N. Geethakumari and to Shri. Dhrubajyoti Das for extending their help in various ways during the preparation of this book. I hope this work will be of immense help to researchers in Bangla and Dravidian.
