These passages clearly speak about Lord Subrahmanya: viz, His different incarnations, His truthful reality (tatvam), His various names along with the reasons. His sportive exploits (Lilavinodhams) His greatness etc.. The intention of the author is to make available and easily accessible at one place, all the details about the Lord scattered at different places as said above. This is, perhaps, to facilitate the devotees who are very much eager to know about the Lord. The collection is aptly named as Subrahmanya Vangmaya Ratnakaraha i.e a source that speaks all about Lord Subrahmanya.
