Raskhan, Rahim, Taj Bibi were poets of devotion to Sri Krishna and Dara Shukoh was a scholar, poet, translator, philosopher and administrator. All these personalities reflect the composite heritage of India. When Hindus and Muslims started living together, both were influenced by each other's beliefs and ideas. The spirit of tolerance, the desire to assimilate each other's ideas and customs, and the broad view of Hindu and Muslim saints created Sufism and the Bhakti creed afresh. The sense of generosity between Hindus and Muslims grew after generations of living together and of constant interaction between the people of the two communities. The main task of the devotee poets was to spread love and peace. They were always in favor of religious harmony. India is geographically wide, linguistically heterogeneous, integrated with faith and influenced by its culture as well as local cultural practices. The poem of devotion served to connect the whole country. Poets devoted their life in writing soul-stirring compositions in praise of God and highlighted common humanistic ethical values of all religions. The poetical language of Raskhan was very fluent and easy to understand. Raskhan's love for Krishna and Brajbhoomi can be seen in his many other memorable poems. According to Dara Shukoh, the man himself is not only a creation of God but also a part of his essence, so he calls out, to identify oneself to know the essence of God. in his poem, he writes that man is like a drop and God is like an Ocean, Rahim's couplets which are widely cited in Indian society are direct lessons for everyday life, touching on themes of friendship. enmity, life and family, relationships, etc. They speak to us for centuries in a contemporary tone Taj Bibi wrote verses and dhamaars in devation to Krishna which are still sung in Pushtimargiya temples. Centre for Cultural Resources and Training is pleased to present a book series on "Sanjhi Sanskriti Ke Nirmaata" dedicated to Indian composite culture. Introduction
When I was a student of seventh or eighth dass, the game of 'Antyakshar' used to be organised in the schools. At home, my father had an anthology. edited by Shri Viyogi Hari, which had a collection of hymns, verses, prayers and poems. There were Raskhan's poems and a couple of verses by Taj Bibi too. I had memorised along with Raskhan's poems Taj Bibi's 'chhail jo chhabila'. One of the reasons for this was that it began with Hindi letter Chh At home there were files of Brajbharati in which two or three articles of Baba Jawaharlal Chaturvedi had been published. I just had a look at them because there was no special context to read them. However, whenever there was a mention of transgressing boundaries in Braj-Bhakti, I would cite Taj's "हों तौ मुगलानी हिन्दवानी हवे रहूँगी मैं" and cited it many times. When I got the opportunity to edit Vallabhprakash magazine of Goswami Shri Brajramanlal ji Maharaj of Mathura, then during a Kirtan, I had also the opportunity to listen to the dhamar बहुरि उप बाजन लागे हेली।। had also learnt that there are many references to Taj Bibi in folk literature. The truth is that I did not get to learn more than this about Taj Bibi anywhere. When I received a message from Shri Rishi Vashist ji on January 20, 2020 and he gave me some pages of a research work, which I read the same night, I realized that there is a dearth of authentic material on Taj Bibi. The same night I spoke to the Head of the Department of History, University of Allahabad, Professor Heramb Chaturvedi. He told me that Taj is a form of title. He emphasized the need for studying some parchal literature first. The next day when a meeting was held in CCRT, then Shri Rishi Vashist, Director CCRT said that it was a timebound work. Then I expressed my inability to carry out this study. The material, of course, was lacking: but one of the reasons was that I had had a cataract operation just two days earlier and the doctor had advised only light work for at least ten days. There were other members of the team in the meeting, who suggested several sources from where I could access material and provided a few phone numbers as well. But it did not work out. I went to the Delhi University library, I found four or five books there but in them also not much material was available on Taj Bibi. I rang up Shri Brajendra Kumar Singhal, an industrialist and a dedicated scholar, who studies Bhakti Sterature day and night He told me that he would search some material for me during his visit to Rajasthan. He did send me some material. Then I went to the Kirtaniyanji (Kirtan singer) of Dwarkadheesh temple of Mathura, who gave me a book of annual Kirtan-festival in which I found a Vasant-dhamar. Then I went to Vrindavan Research Centre where the Director, Shri Satish Chandra Dixit ji was delighted to see me. The Research. Officer Dr. Rajesh Sharma extended a great deal of cooperation and provided the photocopies of many books. He also sent me the article on Taj Khan published in Amar Ujala. From there I went to the Braj Research Studies Institute.
