About The Book
TANDAVA IN QUEST OF SHIVA: A fascinating, historical narrative that brings alive the 12th century reality, especially the awe-inspiring lives of Allama Prabhu, Akka Mahadevi and Basavanna, and their vachanas, poems, that resonate even today. All three mystic-poets are household names in Karnataka State with many ashrams/mutts and institutions established in their names. Their lives and poems-rendered into melodic songs today-continue to evoke a vision of an egalitarian society and life beyond borders, bringing home the possibility of self-realization, of anubhaava-direct experience of reality, here and now. Tandava is a powerful, timeless tale on human condition, but palso one that connects with the reality and challenges of our times.
