Ayurvedic treatment covers various roots of drug administration even for one disease. Shamana treatment with various actions is given after a variety of the Karmas of "Panchakarma" in one and the same disease.
For both types of treatment, that is Shamana and Shodhana variety of Dosage forms are prescribed. A superficial look at these Dosage forms shows that "Milk' is used as a main ingredient in so many Dosage forms like "Kshira Kalpana", "Basti Kalpana", "Kshira Siddha Yusha" etc.
No doubt, Acharya Charaka has mentioned different therapeutic uses of milk very comprehensively, but a text based on surgery Le. Sushruta Samhita also holds a great value as a curative aspect of diseases which also must be accepted.
The text specially mentions "Baala Roga" in Ayurveda, that is Kashyapa Samhita, has stated properties and utilisation of Kshira very comprehensively. To find out the detailed and vital concepts regarding different therapeutic uses of milk in children given in this text, studies must be done.
Keeping all these views in my mind, a detailed study has been carried out focusing on therapeutic uses of "Dugdha (Milk)" from Sushruta Samhita and Kashyapa Samhita.
