In 1989m, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan gave a live performance in Calcutta to celebrate 150 years of The Times of India. This exquisite performance was recorded live exclusively by us and released as part of The Golden Raaga Collection

Ustad Amjad Ali Khan was initiated into playing the sarod at the age of five and has grown from strength to strength. He has received the UNESCO award from the International Music Forum, the ‘Sarod Samrat’ from Prayag Sangeet Samiti and the Padmashri in 1975. He was honoured by the Sahitya Kala Parishad in 1977 and the Sangeet Kala Sangam in 1980.

He was also awarded the ‘Musician of Musician’s Award by the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in 1983.
