I have been writing on disability issues, including my own personal experiences with disability, but I felt that I have been missing something very important and that was celebrating those who have contributed so much in advocating the rights of persons with disabilities and have been the real change makers.
Fortunately, I met Dr. Kanubhai Hasmukhbhai Tailor, who with cent percent disability, has dedicated his whole life for the cause of those who have been denied basic rights and access to public spaces and services. Soon after meeting him, there was a sudden rush of impulse to bring his story in front of the world.
Writing his biography is my way of giving tribute to all that he has contributed to the society.
Kanubhai is a born fighter. He has created history by being such a tall leader. A man who has photographs of receiving numerous awards with five Presidents of India, is indeed a real life hero.
If you have lost hope in life and feel emptiness all around, this book will be a complete package of motivation and inspiration for you.
I hope the book leaves the readers wonderstruck to see how he achieved so much despite confronting numerous challenges all on his way.
Co-Author Rachana says that her father has mentored her to stay humble and support anybody who approaches for help. She says her father has mentored her to be mentally strong and there is nothing like impossible in life, it can only be difficult. She wishes that in every form of birth that she would take henceforth, she would like to have both Kanubhai and Hansaben as her parents. She says she has promised herself to dedicate this life to support her parents in all possible ways.
About co-authoring this book, she says that it was her wish to bring forth to the world her father's achievements in spite of all his physical limitations. She believes that many more people should be motivated after reading this book and come forward to help and support the underprivileged and marginalised community.
