The rendering of Dr. Pashupati Bhattacharya's renowned and most popular Bengali biography of the Mother, 'Ke Ei Maa' into English by Sri Pankaj Kumar Paul, who is a member of Sri Aurobindo Society, Madhyamgram and also a senior member of Sri Aurobindo Pathamandir, Kolkata has made a remarkable strides in the first edition of the book published in 21" Feb.2018 to fulfil the growing interest in India and abroad to know about the multifaceted and charismatic Personality of the Divine Mother in her diverse manifestations and activities by all sections of the people particularly by those who do not understand Bengali.
In his word for word translation (not an idea-based translation), Sri Pankaj Kumar Paul, has maintained almost the same simplicity, Lucidity and intoxicating sweetness of language of Pashupati babu from his extraordinary sensitivity to literary beauty, which has attracted the keen attention of the devotees and he readers as a whole for which I am proud of him. He has also got the highest recognition from The Mother through Sri Manoj Dasgupta, Managing Trustee, Sri Aurobindo Ashram Trust, Pondicherry. I pray to the Mother so that her Love and Blessings, Grace and Compassion may be unstintedly showered upon him. In his long Preface, the Author has recorded his widespread experiences over the last 46 years gathered from a Galaxy of scholars, Great thinkers and exponents by travelling into different Religious and Spiritual Institutions, which are really fascinating, inspiring and enlightening to the readers. Especially Dr. Karan Singh's Limerick is wonderful. The learned Dr. Singhji(90), who is a great devotee of The Mother and Sri Aurobindo has also thankfully acknowledged his manuscript.
Prof. Trija Roy, the Learned Chairman of Sri Aurobindo Pathamandir, Kolkata has rightly said about the book in the last paragraph of his Preface to the Golden Jubilee edition of Ke Ei Maa". I am overwhelmed, inter alia, especially with his living translation of the Mother's prayers which were written by herself to her Lord with a painful clarity.
I most Reverentially quote a few lines from the Mother: "Throughout all this life", The Mother has said, "Knowingly or Unknowingly, I have done what the Lord wanted me to be, that alone matters."
The Mother too has said: "Do not ask questions about the details of the material existence of this body; they are in themselves of no interest and must not attract attention."
The Mother has further said the cause of her coming to India on 21 Feb. 1968.
