Kumar Gandharva

Kumar Gandharva was a vocalist known for his revolutionary spirit. He was a path breaker and trendsetter in many spheres of the classical music. He was trained by professor Deodhar and Anjani Bai Malpekar

Although connected with the Gwalior gharana, Kumar Gandharva had his own distinctive style of singing, which was a blend of coassical and folk music. While performing, he woukd inest his renditions with unique newness and excellence and mesmerize his audiences.

A recipient Sangeet Natak Academy fellowship, kumar Gandharva was also honoured with the Padma Bhushan and D Litt, from the Vikram University.

This album features Raga Bhoopali, Malkauns, Shuddh Shyam, Shree, Hameer and Bhimpalasi.
