A hard hitting realistic film set in the milieu of the superstition and ritual ridden villages of India. Young, pre pubescent girls from a particular caste, are the prey for the vultures, the rich men and the landlords of the village. One such girl is Laxmi. There is a pimp who specializes in procuring girls for the brothels in Bombay, and there is one who deals with the girls in the village. Now Laxmi is being targeted by the pimp from Bombay and the landlords and sahukars of the village, while the local pimp and his wife want to her. What can happen to Laxmi?
