About The Artists

Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan
Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan hails from a family steeped in Indian Classical Music belonging to the Sahaswan Rampur Gharana that has given the world an abundance of Khayal singers. His father, Ustad Waris Hussain Khan initiated him into music at a tender age. Ustad Fida Hussian Khan and then later his son Ustad Nissar Hussain Khan took Khansaheb under their wings and honed his talent. The Sangeet Natak Academy award, Padmashri, Ustad Hafiz Ali Khan award, Maharashtra Gaurav Puraskar are some of the accolades bestowed upon him. Besides being a performer per excellence, Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khansaheb has been blessed with ‘shaagirds’ such as Hariharan, Shaan, Sonu Nigam, A.R. Rahman and many others. These are legends in their own right and have carved a niche for themselves in the world of Indian Music, thus making their Guru extremely proud!

Ustad Zakir Hussain
This one name suffices as an introduction of Indian Classical Music to the rest of the world. What the Sun is to the day, Zakirji is to Percussion! When he performs, time comes to a standstill. As the illustrious son and disciple of Ustad Alla Rakha, Zakirji belongs to the Punjab Gharana. Trained in the traditional style and having imbibed the best from all, today Zakirji is an institution, a Gharana in himself ! Zakirji’s efforts in the recipient of the Grammy Award twice, the most recent being for the Contemporary World Music Album category for his collaborative album Global Drum Project. Zakirji’s brilliance spans over various disciplines of music. Be it as a soloist, composer or his collaborative efforts with world musicians, Zakirji is a complete artiste.
