This Swami Ayappa Brass Pendant is a sacred piece of jewelry that has been designed to benefit the devotees by keeping their beloved Aiyyapan or Ayappa close to their hearts. The pendant contains the image of Lord Ayappa on one side and the image of the Sabarimala temple on the other side. Sabarimala Sree Dharma Sastha Temple, dedicated to Lord Ayyappa, is the most famous and significant among Kerala's Sastha temples. According to the Bhagavatam, Shiva fell in love with Vishnu when in his Mohini form.

Their bond led to the creation of Shasta. The infant born was also known as Hariharaputra, as Shiva's other name is Hara and Vishnu's is Hari. It is claimed that Ayyappa is a manifestation of Shasta.
