A Visual Embodiment of Divine Intervention

Lord Vishnu, the preserver of the universe, incarnated as Kurma, a giant tortoise, to support the mountain on his back, allowing the churning process to continue. This act of selfless support and divine intervention is pivotal in Hindu cosmology. Look closely, and you'll see depictions of the gods and demons engaged in this epic tug-of-war on the canvas. The churning released not only Amrita but also other celestial treasures and, notably, a potent poison called Halahala. Lord Shiva intervened, consuming the poison to save the universe, forever marking his throat with a blue hue. The lotus flower held in the hand further symbolizes purity, enlightenment, and rebirth, integral themes connected to the outcome of the churning.
