Kishangarh state had a conspicuous style of painting, different from the existing schools. Delightful colour schemes, attractive and dynamic lines, a blend of poetry with art are some of the attributes of Kishangarh art.

The theme of Radha and Krishna is predominant in Kishangarh paintings and this is one of the series. With their backs towards the viewer, Radha and Krishna sit engrossed in their passion, surrounded by 'sakhis' or friends. The blue-bodied Krishna, dressed in his ubiquitous yellow dhoti and a similar turban holds his love by the shoulder. In turn, the golden complexioned Radha looks coyly at him. Radha, as well as her friends are dressed in long flowing ghagras, short kanchukis and diaphanous odhinis. As per the dictates of Kishangarh art, all the figures have long torso and slim, lithe bodies; the facial features have long straight noses, lotus shaped eyes and thin lips.

The thematic content is an important part of the painting. No less is the architectural element. The arches, the niches, the walls and parapet form the exquisite architecture with delicate floral arabesque. The lotus pond is the foreground is replete with floating flowers and fountains.
