सरस्वती सरसिजकेसरप्रभा

तपस्विनी सितकमलासनप्रिया

घनस्तनी कमलविलोललोचना

मनस्विनी भवतु वरप्रसादिनी

This brass lamp is a salutation to Devi Saraswati, who has the splendor of a lotus flower, is Tapaswini (literally a Yogi, signifying the embodiment of meditation), and who loves the seat of White Lotus, whose eyes are filled with significant serenity, like the pure lotus petals, and who is Manaswini (literally full of Mind, signifying the embodiment of wisdom), she plays Veena and showers blessings upon her devotees. Here, the Goddess sits on an arrangement of lamps, looking like a fully bloomed lotus.

The statue of Goddess Saraswati, in her Chaturbhuj or four-armed look, is seen seated on a broad oil lamp with one wick, which further stands on a group of lamps. The entire arrangement is blessed with a Kirtimukha frame supported by a peacock, and Yali stands at both sides. This lamp is a traditional ritual object that brings the auspiciousness associated with the image of Goddess Saraswati and mixes it with the warmth of the lamp.

A Manifestation of Wisdom, Art, and Illumination

Behold a stunning representation of Goddess Saraswati, the embodiment of knowledge, music, arts, wisdom, and learning. This meticulously crafted brass statue, made in India, is more than just a decorative piece; it's an invocation of divine blessings and a celebration of Indian artistry. Saraswati, often depicted seated on a lotus flower – a symbol of purity and enlightenment – is revered throughout the Hindu pantheon. She represents the free flow of wisdom and consciousness, embodying the creative energy and power in all its forms. The statue shows Saraswati playing the Veena, a stringed instrument whose music is believed to soothe the mind and inspire creativity. In her other hand, she holds a mala, a string of beads used for prayer and meditation, signifying her connection to spirituality and the pursuit of inner peace. Her serene expression reflects the tranquility and wisdom she imparts to her devotees.

The Swan and the Lion – Symbols of Discernment and Strength

Adding to the statue's visual richness are the exquisitely detailed swans arching overhead, and the two lions flanking the Goddess. In Hindu mythology, the swan, or *hamsa*, is revered for its ability to separate milk from water, symbolizing discernment and the ability to distinguish between right and wrong, truth and falsehood. The lion represents strength and power, demonstrating how with the wisdom and knowledge, one can use their power for good. They are important symbols signifying Saraswati's connection to both intellectual pursuits and righteous action. The artisan's skill is evident in the intricate detailing of each creature, bringing them to life with remarkable realism.

A Beacon of Light: The Multiple Diyas

Encircling the base of this divine representation are multiple *diyas*, small oil lamps that hold immense significance in Hindu rituals. Light is a powerful symbol in Hinduism, representing knowledge, purity, and the dispelling of darkness or ignorance. The arrangement of numerous diyas around Saraswati amplifies this symbolism, creating a powerful beacon of enlightenment. Lighting the diyas is an act of devotion, invoking the Goddess's blessings and filling the surroundings with positive energy. This beautiful representation can serve as a focal point for meditation, prayer, or simply as a reminder of the power of knowledge and the importance of seeking wisdom. With dimensions of 12.0 x 9.5 x 9.5 inches, this statue is perfect for placement in your home, temple, or office, where it will undoubtedly become a treasured piece, radiating beauty, inspiration, and a connection to ancient traditions. Each piece bears the mark of the artisan's hand, making it unique and imbued with the spirit of its creation.

Unveiling the Wisdom and Creativity of Saraswati: A Deeper Understanding

Mother Saraswati is one of the three principal Goddesses in Hinduism who are known as “Tridevi”; the other two being Lakshmi and Parvati. In the Vedic scriptures, she is mentioned as the consort of Lord Brahma, the creator of the material world, and thus assists him in his activities. She is often depicted as having a beautiful youthful body with four arms holding a book (represents the Vedas), a rosary (signifying the importance of chanting the holy names of the Supreme Lord Vishnu), a water pot, and a musical instrument called Veena. She sits on a white swan that symbolizes the capacity to discriminate between good and evil.

She is worshiped by many people across the globe in different forms. She is the Goddess of knowledge, art, music, speech, and learning. People in parts of India celebrate Saraswati Puja in the month of spring in which the elders of the family begin the day by taking the blessings of Mother Saraswati and then teach their children to read and write the letters of the alphabet.

Goddess Saraswati is the manifestation or expansion of Goddess Lakshmi or Srimati Radharani, the eternal consort of the Supreme Lord. She is very merciful toward all living entities and blesses them with whatever material desires they have. But if one sincerely and genuinely approaches her and serves her to know about the Absolute Truth and the real aim of human life, she bestows all good fortune upon them and inspires them to walk the path toward the Supreme. Thus, if you want to please Mother Saraswati through your selfless service, you can keep her deity at home and worship her with faith and devotion.

How to keep a Brass statue well-maintained?
