An elegantly designed Ganesha candlestick. Son of Shiva-Parvati, brother of Karttikeya; the upholder of light (just sattva) as well as prakrti (sattva-rajas-tamas), for both of which the candle stands as an unflickering symbol.

A compact silhouette that, in terms of design, packs in a wealth of high-precision iconographical detail. The luxuriantly engraved crown. Lifelike eyes; betwixt them an elaborate trishoola tilaka. The realistic folds of those elephant ears.

The torso of Ganesha narrows down into the base of the candlestick. While the former is engraved with impressions of divine adornment, the latter features elongated lotus petal engravings. Delicately sculpted digits of all four hands.

Embodiment of Wisdom and Auspiciousness

This exquisite brass sculpture captures the revered form of Chaturbhuja Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed deity, in a unique and functional design. Lord Ganesha, often referred to as Vighnaharta (remover of obstacles) and the patron of arts and sciences, is an embodiment of wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune. His four arms, as depicted in the Chaturbhuja form, symbolize his multifaceted powers and his ability to bestow blessings in all directions. In this artistic representation, Ganesha's divine presence is amplified by the integrated candle stand, transforming a sacred idol into a beacon of light and positivity for your home.

A Symphony of Form and Function

Crafted from high-quality brass, this piece showcases meticulous detailing and masterful artistry. The rich, dark patina of the brass lends an ancient and timeless quality, while the subtle reddish undertones highlight the intricate carvings that adorn the deity's form. Each element, from the delicate patterns on his crown and chest to the serene expression on his elephant face, speaks of skilled craftsmanship. Ganesha is shown holding his traditional attributes: in his upper right hand, he typically holds a goad to prod men to right action, and in his upper left, a noose to capture all defilements. The lower hands are often depicted in abhaya mudra (fearlessness) and varada mudra (boon-giving), offering protection and blessings. Here, the lower hands are subtly integrated with the candle stand, creating a seamless fusion of divine iconography and utilitarian design.

Illuminating Your Sacred Space

The candle stand, thoughtfully incorporated into the sculpture's base, provides a perfect platform for a candle, casting a warm, inviting glow that enhances the spiritual ambiance of any room. Placing a candle here symbolizes the dispelling of darkness and ignorance, mirroring Ganesha's role as a remover of obstacles. This piece is ideal for altars, prayer rooms, living spaces, or as a thoughtful housewarming gift. It serves not only as a decorative item but also as a constant reminder of the divine presence that guides and protects. Legend has it that Ganesha was the one who wrote the Mahabharata, the epic tale, dictated by the sage Vyasa, showcasing his immense intellect and dedication. His presence is believed to bring peace, success, and harmony to those who honor him.

A Legacy of Craftsmanship

This brass sculpture is a testament to traditional Indian craftsmanship, passed down through generations. The casting and finishing processes are executed with immense care and precision, ensuring a durable and beautiful piece that will be cherished for years to come. The weight and substance of the brass contribute to its regal appearance, making it a statement piece that effortlessly blends artistic expression with spiritual significance. Invite the auspicious presence of Chaturbhuja Lord Ganesha into your life, illuminated by the gentle flicker of a candle, and embrace the blessings of wisdom and prosperity.

The Divine Presence in Art

Lord Ganesha, the beloved son of Shiva and Parvati, is one of the most widely worshipped deities in the Hindu pantheon. His unique form, with the head of an elephant and a human body, is attributed to various myths, including the tale where Shiva beheaded him in a fit of rage and later replaced his head with that of an elephant. This incident led to his being appointed as the chief of Shiva's ganas, hence the name Ganesha. His large ears symbolize his ability to listen to the prayers of his devotees, and his trunk is said to be capable of removing the most stubborn obstacles. The depiction of Chaturbhuja Ganesha, meaning "one with four arms," highlights his omnipotence and his capacity to engage with the world on multiple levels. This particular rendition, with its integrated candle stand, adds another layer of meaning, representing the illumination that Ganesha brings to life, dispelling ignorance and paving the path for success and happiness. The use of brass, a metal highly regarded in Indian culture for its purity and auspiciousness, further enhances the sanctity of this divine representation. It is believed that brass possesses inherent purifying qualities and that idols made from it attract positive energy.

How to keep a Brass statue well-maintained?

Brass statues are known and appreciated for their exquisite beauty and luster. The brilliant bright gold appearance of Brass makes it appropriate for casting aesthetic statues and sculptures. Brass is a metal alloy composed mainly of copper and zinc. This chemical composition makes brass a highly durable and corrosion-resistant material. Due to these properties, Brass statues and sculptures can be kept both indoors as well as outdoors. They also last for many decades without losing all their natural shine.

Brass statues can withstand even harsh weather conditions very well due to their corrosion-resistance properties. However, maintaining the luster and natural beauty of brass statues is essential if you want to prolong their life and appearance.

  • The best and simplest way to maintain a brass statue is to clean it at least twice a week using a soft cloth or cotton rag. This will prevent dust from accumulating on the surface. Dusting is especially important for outdoor statues since it is prone to dust accumulation much more than indoors.

  • To give a natural shine and luster to the statue, you may apply coconut or olive oil using cotton on every portion. You can use a toothbrush to get to the small crevices but do not be too harsh. This will make the brass statue appear fresh and new with a polished look.

  • In case you have a colored brass statue, you may apply mustard oil using a soft brush or clean cloth on the brass portion while for the colored portion of the statue, you may use coconut oil with a cotton cloth.

Brass idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses are especially known for their intricate and detailed work of art. Nepalese sculptures are famous for small brass idols portraying Buddhist deities. These sculptures are beautified with gold gilding and inlay of precious or semi-precious stones. Religious brass statues can be kept at home altars. You can keep a decorative brass statue in your garden or roof to embellish the area and fill it with divinity.
