15" Blessing Lord Shiva in Brass

$775
Includes any tariffs and taxes

Lord Adinath, whose name translates into ‘primal master’. Founder of hathayoga, and the very first teacher of yoga. The Shiva-roopa that you see on this page is the classical Adinath iconography as expounded in the ancient yoga texts.

Padmasana limbs; hand raised in powerful blessing. The fluid Ganga pouring forth from the thick coils of His mane. The raised hood of the snake coiled around His neck, its viciousness in sharp contrast to the samadhi-steeped countenance of Shiva.

For a plinth, the sculptor has carved a realistically textured imitation of a tigerskin. Submission to the Lord writ large on the lifeless face still part of the asana. A trishoola with the damroo wound at the neck, His signature weapon, standing passively next to the seated contemplative  ascetic.

A Divine Presence: Lord Shiva in Radiant Brass

Invite the transformative energy and profound blessings of Lord Shiva into your home with this exquisite brass statue. Crafted with meticulous detail, this piece captures the divine essence of the Mahadeva, the Supreme Being in Hinduism. Lord Shiva, also known as the Destroyer and Transformer, is a central deity revered for his dual nature of immense power and profound compassion. He is the Adi Yogi, the first yogi, and the source of all spiritual knowledge and practice. This statue portrays Lord Shiva in a serene, meditative posture, radiating an aura of peace and wisdom. The smooth, polished brass gleams, reflecting the light and imbuing the piece with a sacred warmth. His tranquil expression and the gentle gesture of his raised hand signify protection, reassurance, and the granting of boons. The intricate detailing of his matted hair, adorned with the crescent moon and the divine Ganga flowing through it, speaks of his asceticism and cosmic power. The cobra coiled around his neck, a symbol of primal energy and immortality, further emphasizes his formidable yet controlled might.

Symbolism and Spirituality

The trident, or Trishul, held upright beside him, is Shiva's primary weapon and a potent symbol of his dominion over the three gunas (Sattva, Rajas, Tamas) and his ability to destroy ignorance, illusion, and ego. The damaru, a small drum often depicted with Shiva, represents the primal sound of creation, Om. The serene lotus seat upon which he rests signifies purity, spiritual awakening, and transcendence over the material world. The presence of the Sri Yantra, a powerful geometric diagram representing the cosmos and the union of masculine and feminine energies, subtly integrated into the base, adds another layer of spiritual significance, amplifying the auspiciousness of the idol. In Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva is often depicted as dwelling in the Himalayas, immersed in deep meditation. He is the patron of arts and sciences, and his dance, the Tandava, represents the cosmic cycle of creation, preservation, and destruction. To have an image of Lord Shiva in your dwelling is to invoke his presence, seeking his protection from negativity, guidance in spiritual pursuits, and the dissolution of obstacles that hinder growth. This statue is not merely an object of art but a conduit for divine grace and a constant reminder of the spiritual journey.

An Heirloom of Devotion

This substantial brass statue is designed to be a cherished centerpiece in your puja room, meditation space, or any area where you seek to cultivate a sense of peace and divinity. The timeless beauty of brass ensures that this idol will maintain its lustrous appeal for generations, becoming a treasured heirloom that passes down devotion and spiritual connection through your family. Its majestic presence and profound symbolism make it an ideal gift for loved ones on significant occasions, such as housewarmings, weddings, or religious festivals, offering them the blessings of Lord Shiva.

How to keep a Brass statue well-maintained?

Brass statues are known and appreciated for their exquisite beauty and luster. The brilliant bright gold appearance of Brass makes it appropriate for casting aesthetic statues and sculptures. Brass is a metal alloy composed mainly of copper and zinc. This chemical composition makes brass a highly durable and corrosion-resistant material. Due to these properties, Brass statues and sculptures can be kept both indoors as well as outdoors. They also last for many decades without losing all their natural shine.

Brass statues can withstand even harsh weather conditions very well due to their corrosion-resistance properties. However, maintaining the luster and natural beauty of brass statues is essential if you want to prolong their life and appearance.

  • The best and simplest way to maintain a brass statue is to clean it at least twice a week using a soft cloth or cotton rag. This will prevent dust from accumulating on the surface. Dusting is especially important for outdoor statues since it is prone to dust accumulation much more than indoors.

  • To give a natural shine and luster to the statue, you may apply coconut or olive oil using cotton on every portion. You can use a toothbrush to get to the small crevices but do not be too harsh. This will make the brass statue appear fresh and new with a polished look.

  • In case you have a colored brass statue, you may apply mustard oil using a soft brush or clean cloth on the brass portion while for the colored portion of the statue, you may use coconut oil with a cotton cloth.

Brass idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses are especially known for their intricate and detailed work of art. Nepalese sculptures are famous for small brass idols portraying Buddhist deities. These sculptures are beautified with gold gilding and inlay of precious or semi-precious stones. Religious brass statues can be kept at home altars. You can keep a decorative brass statue in your garden or roof to embellish the area and fill it with divinity.
