The peacock, which was born from the feathers of the Garuda (Lord Vishnu's holy mount), is said to be able to govern time. As a result, it is preferred as a vehicle for many different Gods and Goddesses. It received Lord Indra's blessing and grew a gorgeous plumage. It also appears as an ornamental component in Lord Krishna's crown. Because of its association with so many Gods and Goddesses, the picture of a peacock has become a holy emblem. This brass lamp is also adorned with a peacock picture on top.

Kuthu Villaku is a tiered lamp with two rows of lamps affixed to a stem that resembles an arrangement of the holy pitcher or Kalash. There are also vines linked to the stem that appear to be influenced by the decorations of antique temples. It is thought that lighting lights with the picture of a peacock bring prosperity and good luck to a home.

A Symbol of Auspiciousness and Divine Presence

The crowning glory of this lamp is its magnificent peacock motif. In Hindu mythology, the peacock is revered as the mount of Lord Kartikeya, the god of war and victory, and is also associated with the goddess Saraswati, the embodiment of knowledge and arts. Its vibrant plumage symbolizes beauty, grace, and prosperity. The peacock's watchful eyes are believed to ward off evil spirits and negativity, making this lamp a powerful symbol of protection and auspiciousness. A Vessel of Light and Tradition

This lamp features multiple diya bowls, designed to hold oil and wicks, allowing for a gentle, flickering illumination that has been a central element of spiritual practices for millennia. The act of lighting a diya is more than just creating light; it is a symbolic gesture of dispelling ignorance, embracing knowledge, and inviting divine consciousness. It is a practice observed during festivals like Diwali, the festival of lights, and in daily pujas (worship ceremonies) to honor deities and create a sacred ambiance. The robust brass construction ensures durability and longevity, allowing this lamp to become a cherished heirloom, passing down its blessings through generations. ––––––––––––––––––––

Artistry Rooted in Heritage

Each lamp is a testament to the enduring legacy of Indian craftsmanship. Hand-hammered and shaped by skilled artisans, no two lamps are exactly alike, imbuing each piece with a unique character and soul. The flowing curves of the central stem, adorned with traditional decorative elements, and the broad, stable base provide a sense of grounding and balance. This lamp is perfect for your puja room, meditation space, or as a striking centerpiece in your living area, radiating an inviting glow and a profound sense of peace. It serves as a constant reminder of the beauty and divinity that surrounds us, a beacon of light in the everyday.

How to keep a Brass statue well-maintained?

Brass statues are known and appreciated for their exquisite beauty and luster. The brilliant bright gold appearance of Brass makes it appropriate for casting aesthetic statues and sculptures. Brass is a metal alloy composed mainly of copper and zinc. This chemical composition makes brass a highly durable and corrosion-resistant material. Due to these properties, Brass statues and sculptures can be kept both indoors as well as outdoors. They also last for many decades without losing all their natural shine.

Brass statues can withstand even harsh weather conditions very well due to their corrosion-resistance properties. However, maintaining the luster and natural beauty of brass statues is essential if you want to prolong their life and appearance.

  • The best and simplest way to maintain a brass statue is to clean it at least twice a week using a soft cloth or cotton rag. This will prevent dust from accumulating on the surface. Dusting is especially important for outdoor statues since it is prone to dust accumulation much more than indoors.

  • To give a natural shine and luster to the statue, you may apply coconut or olive oil using cotton on every portion. You can use a toothbrush to get to the small crevices but do not be too harsh. This will make the brass statue appear fresh and new with a polished look.

  • In case you have a colored brass statue, you may apply mustard oil using a soft brush or clean cloth on the brass portion while for the colored portion of the statue, you may use coconut oil with a cotton cloth.

Brass idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses are especially known for their intricate and detailed work of art. Nepalese sculptures are famous for small brass idols portraying Buddhist deities. These sculptures are beautified with gold gilding and inlay of precious or semi-precious stones. Religious brass statues can be kept at home altars. You can keep a decorative brass statue in your garden or roof to embellish the area and fill it with divinity.
