The peacock is said to be able to manipulate time since it was born from the feathers of the Garuda (Lord Vishnu's sacred mount). As a result, it is preferred as a vehicle for many different Gods and Goddesses. It received Lord Indra's blessing and grew a gorgeous plumage. It also appears as an ornamental component in Lord Krishna's crown. Because of its association with so many Gods and Goddesses, the picture of a peacock has become a holy emblem. This brass lamp is also adorned with a peacock picture on top. Kuthu Villaku is a tiered lamp with two rows of lamps affixed to a stem that resembles an arrangement of the holy pitcher or Kalash. Lighting lamps with the picture of a peacock are thought to bring wealth and good luck to a home.

Echoes of Mythology and Tradition

The presence of the majestic bird, often interpreted as a peacock or a garuda, at the apex of this lamp is deeply symbolic in Hindu culture. The peacock, the Vahana (mount) of Lord Kartikeya, the god of war and victory, represents grace, beauty, and triumph. Garuda, the celestial bird and mount of Lord Vishnu, symbolizes power, speed, and devotion, often depicted as a protector against evil. The intricate detailing of the bird's feathers and regal posture reflects the divine artistry and the sacred narratives woven into the fabric of Indian spirituality. Lighting this lamp is an invocation of these powerful celestial beings, inviting their protective and benevolent energies into your space.

The robust brass construction ensures its longevity, making it a cherished heirloom that can be passed down through families, carrying with it the stories and blessings of its predecessors. Its elegant form and substantial presence make it a striking centerpiece, enhancing the spiritual decor of any dwelling.

Handcrafted Excellence from India

Every aspect of this lamp, from the base to the crowning avian figure, has been shaped by hand, ensuring that no two pieces are exactly alike. This dedication to traditional craftsmanship imbues each lamp with a unique character and soul. The artistry involved in creating such a detailed piece requires immense patience and skill, reflecting the reverence with which these ritual objects are made. By choosing this lamp, you are not only acquiring a beautiful object but also supporting the preservation of ancient Indian artisanal traditions. It serves as a tangible connection to the rich cultural heritage and spiritual practices of India, bringing a piece of its essence into your home.

How to keep a Brass statue well-maintained?

Brass statues are known and appreciated for their exquisite beauty and luster. The brilliant bright gold appearance of Brass makes it appropriate for casting aesthetic statues and sculptures. Brass is a metal alloy composed mainly of copper and zinc. This chemical composition makes brass a highly durable and corrosion-resistant material. Due to these properties, Brass statues and sculptures can be kept both indoors as well as outdoors. They also last for many decades without losing all their natural shine.

Brass statues can withstand even harsh weather conditions very well due to their corrosion-resistance properties. However, maintaining the luster and natural beauty of brass statues is essential if you want to prolong their life and appearance.

  • The best and simplest way to maintain a brass statue is to clean it at least twice a week using a soft cloth or cotton rag. This will prevent dust from accumulating on the surface. Dusting is especially important for outdoor statues since it is prone to dust accumulation much more than indoors.

  • To give a natural shine and luster to the statue, you may apply coconut or olive oil using cotton on every portion. You can use a toothbrush to get to the small crevices but do not be too harsh. This will make the brass statue appear fresh and new with a polished look.

  • In case you have a colored brass statue, you may apply mustard oil using a soft brush or clean cloth on the brass portion while for the colored portion of the statue, you may use coconut oil with a cotton cloth.

Brass idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses are especially known for their intricate and detailed work of art. Nepalese sculptures are famous for small brass idols portraying Buddhist deities. These sculptures are beautified with gold gilding and inlay of precious or semi-precious stones. Religious brass statues can be kept at home altars. You can keep a decorative brass statue in your garden or roof to embellish the area and fill it with divinity.
