In Vaishnava tradition, the worshippers of Sri Krishna not only rever him as an avatar or incarnation of Vishnu, but as the manifestation of Sri Vishnu himself. He is the supreme divine being, the Purusha or the primordial male element, and the Param Brahman or the supreme god. An artistic remembrance of the powers and heavenliness of the fluting Lord of Vrindavan, this handmade bronze statue depicts his celestial form as Chaturbhuja Narayana, an amalgamation of Venugopala (fluting Krishna)’s iconography with the aspects of Vishnu- Shankha and Chakra. In his characteristic Tribhanga or triple bent posture, Krishna stands atop a lotus pedestal, attired in a beautifully delineated dhoti and fine ornaments. His elongated Kiritamukuta crown is embellished with a lovely peacock feather and his divine countenance with a U-shaped Tilak and a mesmeric smile.

Sculpted in a rounded manner, the Panchaloha murti perfectly captures the grace and divine aura of Tribhanga Krishna in his cosmic Narayana roopa, which is revered by innumerable Krishna-bhaktas as the sole deity, who sustains and protects the three realms.

A Masterpiece of Ancient Craftsmanship

Crafted using the revered Madhuchista Vidhana, or lost-wax casting technique, this sculpture is a testament to the enduring legacy of South Indian bronze artistry. Originating from Swamimalai, a village renowned for its tradition of metal casting, this method ensures unparalleled detail and a seamless finish. The use of Panchaloha, a sacred alloy of five metals, imparts a unique lustrous quality and symbolic significance to the sculpture, believed to bring prosperity and well-being to its owner. Each curve, each fold of clothing, and each adornment is rendered with meticulous care, showcasing the profound skill of the artisans who have passed down this ancient knowledge through generations. ––––––––––

Echoes of Divine Lore

Lord Krishna, revered as the eighth avatar of Lord Vishnu, is a central figure in Hindu mythology, known for his divine playfulness, profound wisdom, and loving nature. The Venugopal form, specifically, highlights his pastoral persona, where he would often gather with his friends and beloved Radha in the lush groves of Vrindavan, enchanting them with his flute. Tales abound of his flute's music causing animals to pause, plants to bloom, and the very air to vibrate with divine energy. This sculpture embodies those mystical narratives, bringing the serene and joyous atmosphere of Vrindavan into your home or sacred space. The intricate details, including the peacock feather adorning his crown and the sacred symbols held in his upper hands, further enhance the spiritual aura of this divine representation.
