A gorgeous Ganesha metal urli to grace the home or office of the truly devoted. The urli is a traditional Indian home decor element. It is as auspicious as it is aesthetic. The decorative brass urli that you see on this page is a particularly beautiful sculpture, and an example of superb sculpting skill.

It has three legs the shape of thick vine. At the front-centre is a particularly ornate section of vine, sculpted with intricate detail and perfect symmetry. Flat-edged handles on either side of the shallow-bottomed vessel for ease of manoeuvring. Another section of thick, wild vine emerging from the edge along the back of the brass uruli.

From the very centre of the urli rises a moderately long stem. At its zenith is a figurine of the seated chaturbhujadhari Lord Ganesha. Along this stem is a multitude of shapely, voluminous dias which, when filled with ghee and lit up in the evenings, would add to the auspiciousness of your space.

A Divine Presence: The Ganesha Urli

Invite the blessings of wisdom, prosperity, and auspicious beginnings into your home with this exquisite brass Urli, crowned by the benevolent form of Lord Ganesha. This intricately crafted piece is more than just a decorative item; it is a conduit for divine energy, a statement of artistic heritage, and a timeless symbol of devotion. The Urli, a traditional Indian vessel, is renowned for its ability to hold water, flowers, and floating lamps, creating an ambiance of serenity and spiritual grandeur. In this magnificent creation, the Urli serves as the base, a wide, gleaming bowl supported by ornate, intricately detailed legs, reminiscent of ancient temple architecture. The craftsmanship is evident in every curve and contour, showcasing the skill of artisans who have honed their craft over generations. Delicate patterns adorn the rim and sides, hinting at the rich tapestry of Indian cultural motifs. Perched atop a gracefully designed stand, Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed deity, presides over this sacred ensemble. Crafted from the same lustrous brass, Ganesha is depicted in his classic seated posture, exuding an aura of calm wisdom and benevolent power. His trunk is curled, and his tusks gleam, symbolizing his role as the remover of obstacles and the bestower of fortune. The detailing on his dhoti, his headdress, and his ornamentation speaks to the divine royalty he embodies. In one hand, he often holds a modak, his favorite sweet, and in another, an axe, signifying his ability to sever the bonds of ignorance. His presence atop the Urli is symbolic of Ganesha overseeing the flow of prosperity and the dispelling of negativity. The Urli itself is surrounded by a backdrop of elaborate brasswork, featuring multiple tiers designed to hold small diyas or lamps. These lamps, when lit, will cast a mesmerizing glow, illuminating the divine form of Ganesha and reflecting in the water-filled Urli. The design draws inspiration from the natural world, with motifs of peacocks and other auspicious birds gracing the structure, adding a layer of natural beauty and symbolism. Peacocks are often associated with royalty, beauty, and celestial power in Indian mythology, further enhancing the sacredness of this piece. In Hindu tradition, Ganesha is invoked at the beginning of any new venture, celebration, or undertaking. He is the Vighnaharta, the lord who removes obstacles, ensuring success and prosperity. The Urli, with its association with water, a fundamental element of life, symbolizes purity, abundance, and the cyclical nature of existence. Together, this Ganesha Urli becomes a powerful focal point for your home, inviting positive energy, warding off negativity, and fostering an atmosphere of peace and spiritual harmony. Place it in your living room, puja room, or entryway to greet guests with a symbol of auspiciousness and artistic excellence.

A Testament to Craftsmanship and Divinity

This remarkable piece is cast in high-quality brass, a metal revered for its durability, lustrous sheen, and its spiritual significance in many traditions. Brass is believed to possess inherent purifying qualities and is often used in sacred objects and vessels. The patina that develops over time on brass only adds to its character and antique charm, making this Urli a piece that will be treasured for generations. The sheer scale and detail of this 20-inch masterpiece make it a commanding presence, perfect for making a significant statement in any space. It represents a harmonious blend of utilitarian purpose and profound spiritual symbolism, a true embodiment of artistic dedication and divine reverence.

How to keep a Brass statue well-maintained?

Brass statues are known and appreciated for their exquisite beauty and luster. The brilliant bright gold appearance of Brass makes it appropriate for casting aesthetic statues and sculptures. Brass is a metal alloy composed mainly of copper and zinc. This chemical composition makes brass a highly durable and corrosion-resistant material. Due to these properties, Brass statues and sculptures can be kept both indoors as well as outdoors. They also last for many decades without losing all their natural shine.

Brass statues can withstand even harsh weather conditions very well due to their corrosion-resistance properties. However, maintaining the luster and natural beauty of brass statues is essential if you want to prolong their life and appearance.

  • The best and simplest way to maintain a brass statue is to clean it at least twice a week using a soft cloth or cotton rag. This will prevent dust from accumulating on the surface. Dusting is especially important for outdoor statues since it is prone to dust accumulation much more than indoors.

  • To give a natural shine and luster to the statue, you may apply coconut or olive oil using cotton on every portion. You can use a toothbrush to get to the small crevices but do not be too harsh. This will make the brass statue appear fresh and new with a polished look.

  • In case you have a colored brass statue, you may apply mustard oil using a soft brush or clean cloth on the brass portion while for the colored portion of the statue, you may use coconut oil with a cotton cloth.

Brass idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses are especially known for their intricate and detailed work of art. Nepalese sculptures are famous for small brass idols portraying Buddhist deities. These sculptures are beautified with gold gilding and inlay of precious or semi-precious stones. Religious brass statues can be kept at home altars. You can keep a decorative brass statue in your garden or roof to embellish the area and fill it with divinity.
