The peacock, which originated from the feathers of Lord Vishnu's sacred mount, is supposed to be capable of controlling time. As a result, many different Gods and Goddesses prefer it as a transport. It obtained Lord Indra's grace and developed a beautiful plumage. It's also a decorative component of Lord Krishna's crown. The image of a peacock has become a sacred emblem due to its relationship with so many Gods and Goddesses. This brass lamp also has a peacock image on top. Kuthu Villaku is a tiered lamp with two rows of lamps attached to a stem that resembles a sacred pitcher or Kalash arrangement.

There are also stylized decorations in the shape of parrot motifs attached to the stem, which appear to be influenced by antique temple decorations. The two layers of bulbs differ from one another, giving the lamps a varied dimension. Lighting lights with a peacock image are supposed to bring riches and good luck to a home.

The Radiant Peacock: A Symbol of Divine Light and Beauty

This exquisite brass puja lamp, standing at an impressive height, is a testament to the rich artistic heritage of India. Handcrafted with meticulous detail, it features a majestic peacock at its pinnacle, its ornate feathers fanned out, symbolizing grace, beauty, and immortality. In Hindu mythology, the peacock is the vehicle of Lord Kartikeya, the god of war and wisdom, and is also associated with Goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge and arts. Its presence is believed to bring good fortune, ward off evil, and signify the triumph of good over evil, much like the divine light dispels darkness. ––––––––––––––––––

A Cascade of Light for Sacred Spaces

The design of this lamp is a masterpiece of devotional artistry. Below the resplendent peacock, a tiered structure holds a total of twelve individual diyas, or wicks, arranged in a captivating floral pattern. This design offers the ability to create a truly luminous ambiance, perfect for lighting during prayers, festivals, or important ceremonies. The tiered arrangement, reminiscent of temple architecture, allows the light to radiate outwards and upwards, filling your sacred space with a warm and inviting glow. The base of the lamp is also intricately detailed, providing a stable and elegant foundation that complements the grandeur of the overall piece. ––––––––––––––––––

Crafted by Hand, Blessed by Tradition

The use of brass, a metal revered for its purity and auspicious properties in religious rituals, ensures both durability and a timeless aesthetic. Brass lamps have been an integral part of Indian households and temples for centuries, believed to hold spiritual significance and enhance the sanctity of prayers. The traditional techniques employed in its creation imbue this lamp with a soul, making it more than just an object; it is a vessel for devotion, a conduit for blessings, and a beautiful heirloom that can be passed down through generations. Its substantial presence and intricate design make it a striking centerpiece for any altar or puja room, inviting a sense of peace and spirituality into your home.

How to keep a Brass statue well-maintained?

Brass statues are known and appreciated for their exquisite beauty and luster. The brilliant bright gold appearance of Brass makes it appropriate for casting aesthetic statues and sculptures. Brass is a metal alloy composed mainly of copper and zinc. This chemical composition makes brass a highly durable and corrosion-resistant material. Due to these properties, Brass statues and sculptures can be kept both indoors as well as outdoors. They also last for many decades without losing all their natural shine.

Brass statues can withstand even harsh weather conditions very well due to their corrosion-resistance properties. However, maintaining the luster and natural beauty of brass statues is essential if you want to prolong their life and appearance.

  • The best and simplest way to maintain a brass statue is to clean it at least twice a week using a soft cloth or cotton rag. This will prevent dust from accumulating on the surface. Dusting is especially important for outdoor statues since it is prone to dust accumulation much more than indoors.

  • To give a natural shine and luster to the statue, you may apply coconut or olive oil using cotton on every portion. You can use a toothbrush to get to the small crevices but do not be too harsh. This will make the brass statue appear fresh and new with a polished look.

  • In case you have a colored brass statue, you may apply mustard oil using a soft brush or clean cloth on the brass portion while for the colored portion of the statue, you may use coconut oil with a cotton cloth.

Brass idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses are especially known for their intricate and detailed work of art. Nepalese sculptures are famous for small brass idols portraying Buddhist deities. These sculptures are beautified with gold gilding and inlay of precious or semi-precious stones. Religious brass statues can be kept at home altars. You can keep a decorative brass statue in your garden or roof to embellish the area and fill it with divinity.
