An Embodiment of Devotion and Power

This striking brass statue captures the divine presence of Garuda, the celestial eagle, a pivotal figure in Hindu mythology. Revered as the mount (vahana) of Lord Vishnu, Garuda is a symbol of immense power, speed, and unwavering devotion. His presence is believed to ward off evil and bring auspiciousness. This exquisite piece, meticulously handcrafted in India, stands as a testament to the rich artistic heritage and spiritual depth of the subcontinent. The sculptor has masterfully rendered Garuda in a posture of reverence, with hands pressed together in a gesture of namaste, signifying profound respect and humility. His expansive, feathered wings are spread wide, suggesting his readiness to soar and his dominion over the skies. The intricate detailing on his form, from the segmented feathers to the finely sculpted torso and limbs, speaks volumes about the artisan's skill and dedication. The elaborate headdress, adorned with what appears to be a cobra motif, further enhances his divine aura and alludes to his legendary battle with serpents.

Garuda: The Celestial King of Birds

In Hindu lore, Garuda is not just an animal but a divine being, the son of Sage Kashyapa and Vinata. His epic saga is most famously told in the Ramayana, where he plays a crucial role in rescuing Lord Rama and his brother Lakshmana from the clutches of Ravana. His speed is legendary, so swift that he could cross the heavens in a single moment. He is also known for his intelligence and strength, capable of defeating powerful demons and serpents alike. The depiction of snakes coiled around his arms and ankles in this sculpture is a symbolic representation of his mastery over them. Garuda's unwavering loyalty to Lord Vishnu makes him an enduring symbol of spiritual service and the ultimate triumph of good over evil.

An Heirloom of Enduring Radiance

Crafted from high-quality brass, this statue possesses a timeless appeal and a lustrous sheen that will only deepen with age. The inherent durability of brass ensures that this piece can be cherished for generations, serving as a constant reminder of divine grace and the pursuit of spiritual ideals. Whether placed in a place of worship, a meditation space, or as a statement piece in your home, this Garuda statue radiates an aura of sanctity and strength, inviting peace and positive energy into your surroundings. It is a perfect addition for collectors of religious art, patrons of Indian craftsmanship, or anyone seeking to infuse their environment with the powerful symbolism of this revered celestial being.

How to keep a Brass statue well-maintained?

Brass statues are known and appreciated for their exquisite beauty and luster. The brilliant bright gold appearance of Brass makes it appropriate for casting aesthetic statues and sculptures. Brass is a metal alloy composed mainly of copper and zinc. This chemical composition makes brass a highly durable and corrosion-resistant material. Due to these properties, Brass statues and sculptures can be kept both indoors as well as outdoors. They also last for many decades without losing all their natural shine.

Brass statues can withstand even harsh weather conditions very well due to their corrosion-resistance properties. However, maintaining the luster and natural beauty of brass statues is essential if you want to prolong their life and appearance.

  • The best and simplest way to maintain a brass statue is to clean it at least twice a week using a soft cloth or cotton rag. This will prevent dust from accumulating on the surface. Dusting is especially important for outdoor statues since it is prone to dust accumulation much more than indoors.

  • To give a natural shine and luster to the statue, you may apply coconut or olive oil using cotton on every portion. You can use a toothbrush to get to the small crevices but do not be too harsh. This will make the brass statue appear fresh and new with a polished look.

  • In case you have a colored brass statue, you may apply mustard oil using a soft brush or clean cloth on the brass portion while for the colored portion of the statue, you may use coconut oil with a cotton cloth.

Brass idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses are especially known for their intricate and detailed work of art. Nepalese sculptures are famous for small brass idols portraying Buddhist deities. These sculptures are beautified with gold gilding and inlay of precious or semi-precious stones. Religious brass statues can be kept at home altars. You can keep a decorative brass statue in your garden or roof to embellish the area and fill it with divinity.
