A Tranquil Vision of Enlightenment

Embodying the serene essence of Siddhartha Gautama, this magnificent brass statue captures the pivotal moment of his awakening. With eyes softly closed and a gentle, knowing smile gracing his lips, the Buddha sits in a profound meditative posture, radiating an aura of peace and spiritual wisdom. The skilled artisans of India have meticulously handcrafted this piece, imbuing it with the timeless grace and reverence associated with Buddhist iconography. The rich patina of the brass, highlighted by intricate detailing, speaks to the dedication and artistry poured into its creation. ––––––––––

The Symbolism of the Mudra and Lotus Throne

The Buddha's posture is not merely a physical representation but a deeply symbolic gesture known as a mudra. The specific mudra depicted here, often referred to as the Earth-Touching mudra or *Bhumisparsha mudra*, is particularly significant. Legend has it that as Siddhartha meditated beneath the Bodhi tree, he was assailed by Mara, the demon of illusion and desire. Mara attempted to break Siddhartha's concentration with temptations and distractions. In response, Siddhartha gently placed his right hand on the earth, calling upon the Earth Goddess to bear witness to his enlightenment. This gesture signifies his unshakeable resolve, his connection to the fundamental truth of existence, and his victory over delusion. The lotus throne upon which he rests is another potent symbol. The lotus flower, growing from muddy waters yet blooming in pristine beauty, represents purity, spiritual awakening, and the transcendence of worldly defilements. ––––––––––

A Testament to Craftsmanship and Devotion

This commanding statue, standing at an impressive height, is a true testament to the enduring tradition of Indian craftsmanship. The use of brass, a metal often associated with deities and sacred objects in various cultures, lends the piece a sense of permanence and divine presence. The dark, lustrous finish of the robe is artfully contrasted with the golden sheen of the Buddha's skin and the delicate, hand-painted green accents that outline the flowing fabric and intricate patterns. Each fold of the robe, each curve of the urna (the spiral mark between the eyebrows, symbolizing a third eye of wisdom), and the characteristic ushnisha (the cranial protuberance signifying supreme knowledge) are rendered with exceptional detail and anatomical accuracy, reflecting a deep understanding of Buddhist aesthetics and spiritual principles. ––––––––––

Bringing Sacred Space to Your Home

More than just a decorative object, this exquisite brass Buddha statue is designed to inspire contemplation and foster a sense of tranquility in any space. Whether placed in a meditation room, a study, or as a focal point in your living area, it serves as a constant reminder of the path to inner peace and enlightenment. Its substantial presence makes it a statement piece, a conversation starter, and a source of profound inspiration for all who behold it. Crafted with devotion and a deep respect for tradition, this handmade masterpiece from India is an heirloom quality piece, destined to be cherished for generations to come.

How to keep a Brass statue well-maintained?

Brass statues are known and appreciated for their exquisite beauty and luster. The brilliant bright gold appearance of Brass makes it appropriate for casting aesthetic statues and sculptures. Brass is a metal alloy composed mainly of copper and zinc. This chemical composition makes brass a highly durable and corrosion-resistant material. Due to these properties, Brass statues and sculptures can be kept both indoors as well as outdoors. They also last for many decades without losing all their natural shine.

Brass statues can withstand even harsh weather conditions very well due to their corrosion-resistance properties. However, maintaining the luster and natural beauty of brass statues is essential if you want to prolong their life and appearance.

  • The best and simplest way to maintain a brass statue is to clean it at least twice a week using a soft cloth or cotton rag. This will prevent dust from accumulating on the surface. Dusting is especially important for outdoor statues since it is prone to dust accumulation much more than indoors.

  • To give a natural shine and luster to the statue, you may apply coconut or olive oil using cotton on every portion. You can use a toothbrush to get to the small crevices but do not be too harsh. This will make the brass statue appear fresh and new with a polished look.

  • In case you have a colored brass statue, you may apply mustard oil using a soft brush or clean cloth on the brass portion while for the colored portion of the statue, you may use coconut oil with a cotton cloth.

Brass idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses are especially known for their intricate and detailed work of art. Nepalese sculptures are famous for small brass idols portraying Buddhist deities. These sculptures are beautified with gold gilding and inlay of precious or semi-precious stones. Religious brass statues can be kept at home altars. You can keep a decorative brass statue in your garden or roof to embellish the area and fill it with divinity.
