A dynamic Lord Vishnu composition in bronze. A one-of-a-kind Vishnu murti that depicts Him in a stance replete with motion and defiance of gravity, in complete congruence with Garuda. Garuda is the aquiline vahana (mount) of Vishnu. He is possessed of the great wings of an eagle and subjugates a pair of supremely vicious-looking snakes.

Iconographically, this is a traditional Vishnu murti. Four arms, of which the posterior hands bear the shankha (conch) and the chakra (discus). Tightly wound dhoti around those all-powerful limbs and a world of gorgeous adornment. An ornate plinth of multiple tiers and lotus petal engraving, in keeping with traditional Indian iconography. Yet, the dynamism of the language of Vishnu’s - Garuda’s - form in this composition surpasses all that.

The dark shade of a baked, almost burnt, earthen colour. Hints of a distinct, coppery blue where there are serrations into the bronze. A tall crown engraved with a miniature Kirtimukham motif, resting on a brow with the most fluid and lifelike of composure in a bronze countenance.

The Divine Messenger: Vishnu and Garuda

This magnificent bronze statue captures a pivotal moment in Hindu mythology, showcasing Lord Vishnu, the preserver of the universe, in his dynamic interaction with Garuda, his celestial Vahana, or mount. The sheer scale and intricate detail of this piece make it a truly awe-inspiring representation of divine power and devotion. Lord Vishnu, with his characteristic four arms, is depicted in a powerful, dynamic pose, his divine energy radiating outward. In his hands, he holds his iconic symbols: the Sudarshana Chakra (discus) and the Panchajanya Shankha (conch shell), representing his power over time and the cosmic sound. His serene yet commanding countenance speaks of his role as the protector of Dharma and the universe.

Garuda: The King of Birds

Cradled beneath Vishnu's commanding presence is Garuda, depicted in a posture of utmost reverence and readiness. Garuda, the eagle-like divine creature, is a symbol of speed, strength, and Vedic knowledge. Legend has it that Garuda's mother, Vinata, was enslaved by her sister Kadru, the mother of serpents. To free his mother, Garuda undertook a perilous journey to retrieve the nectar of immortality from the heavens. His bravery and unwavering determination impressed Lord Vishnu, who then made Garuda his eternal Vahana. This depiction of Garuda, with his feathered wings spread and his hands joined in prayer, embodies his profound loyalty and his tireless service to the divine. The coiled serpent at his base, often depicted as an enemy of Garuda in other contexts, here serves to highlight Garuda's mastery over all obstacles and his subservience to Vishnu's will.

An Emblem of Faith and Artistry

Crafted from high-quality bronze, this statue is a testament to traditional Indian craftsmanship. The process of creating such a piece is an ancient art form, often passed down through generations, involving meticulous sculpting, casting, and finishing. The rich patina of the bronze lends an aura of antiquity and profound spiritual depth, making it a fitting centerpiece for any sacred space or a remarkable addition to any collector's prized possessions. The precise rendering of the divine figures, their elaborate adornments, and the dynamic composition create a visual narrative that is both powerful and deeply moving, inviting contemplation on the eternal stories of the cosmos.
