Embrace Divine Protection: The Sudarshana Chakra of Lord Vishnu

Invite the potent energy of the divine into your sacred space with this exquisite brass statue, a representation of Lord Vishnu's formidable Sudarshana Chakra. This powerful disc, a celestial weapon in Vishnu's hand, symbolizes cosmic order, the destruction of evil, and the unwavering protection of righteousness. Crafted from durable brass, this idol embodies both spiritual significance and enduring artistry. The intricate detailing reflects the meticulous skill of the artisans who brought this divine form to life.

A Symbol of Cosmic Power and Protection

The Sudarshana Chakra is not merely a weapon; it is an extension of Vishnu's divine will. Its ever-spinning nature signifies the cyclical nature of time and the ceaseless vigilance of the preserver god. In Hindu mythology, the Sudarshana Chakra is often depicted as a divine emissary capable of vanquishing any negative force. Its presence is believed to ward off evil spirits, remove obstacles, and bestow peace and prosperity upon its devotees. The circular motif surrounding the central figure evokes the boundless nature of the universe and Vishnu's omnipresence.

The Fierce Aspect of Divinity: Narasimha Embodied

On the reverse side of this remarkable idol, the powerful visage of Narasimha emerges. Lord Narasimha, the half-man, half-lion avatar of Vishnu, is revered as the great protector who arose from a pillar to destroy the demon Hiranyakashipu. This manifestation signifies Vishnu's fierce determination to uphold dharma and protect his devotees from even the most formidable threats. The inclusion of Narasimha on the reverse adds another layer of divine power and reassurance, embodying both the serene protector and the fierce destroyer of malevolence.

A Sacred Addition to Your Home Altar

This compact yet commanding brass statue is perfectly sized to grace any home altar, puja room, or meditation space. Its antique finish and detailed craftsmanship make it a captivating centerpiece, drawing the eye and inspiring contemplation. The two majestic lions flanking the base further enhance the idol's aura of strength and regal authority, representing courage and the conquering of all obstacles. Whether you are a devout follower of Lord Vishnu or an admirer of intricate Indian iconography, this Sudarshana Chakra and Narasimha idol offers a tangible connection to the profound spiritual traditions of Hinduism. Its handmade quality ensures that each piece carries a unique charm, a testament to the enduring legacy of traditional craftsmanship.

Unleashing the Power of Narasimha: The Divine Avatar of Lord Vishnu

Narasimha Dev is an incarnation of the Supreme Lord Vishnu or Krishna. He assumed a special form of half-man (Nara) and half-lion (Simha) to protect His five-year-old devotee Prahlad from the ghastly attacks of his demoniac father Hiranyakashipu. He killed the demon to prove that whoever is surrendered to His lotus feet is always taken care of by Him. Lord Narasimha is worshiped in many parts of South India and is considered an important deity in the Vaishnava Sampradaya.

What does Narasimha symbolize?

Although the form of Lord Narasimha appears fierce to the general people, it appears as beautiful and sweet as the lotus flower to His devotees. His ferocious yet transcendental form signifies His rage towards the demoniac persons who try to harm or blaspheme His devotees who are very dear to Him. The devotees always worship and remember Lord Narasimha in their minds because He is the source of all bliss and fortune and is also the cause of all causes. The Vaishnav Acharyas explain that the Lord"s killing of Hiranyakashipu symbolizes the killing of Anarthas such as lust, anger, greed, illusion, attachment, and false ego residing in our hearts. One who has taken the shelter of the lotus feet of Lord Narasimha is at once purified of all contamination which is a barrier in Bhakti.

Which day is for Lord Narasimha?

Since Lord Narasimha is Vishnu Tattva, the Vaishnavas worship Him and observe fasting from grains on Ekadashi which comes on every 11th day in the Hindu or Vedic calendar. On this day, the devotees either completely refrain from eating and drinking anything (Nirjala) or only take grain-free Prasad for satisfying their hunger. They chant the Lord"s holy names, visit temple, and read His pastimes mentioned in the Vedic scriptures. Being completely absorbed in the thoughts of the Lord, the devotees peacefully observe the fast and remain blissful. Another very important day dedicated to Lord Narasimha Dev is “Narasimha Chaturdashi” which comes once a year. It is celebrated as the appearance (His advent on this planet) day of the Lord. On this day, the Vaishnavas congregate in the temples and chant His unending glories and beg for His causeless mercy so that they may eternally be engaged in His devotional service.
