Seated on a regal throne, with a Chattra (royal insignia) and a majestic aureole around him, Sri Ganesha in this brass sculpture is the source of Universe’s auspiciousness, often evoked as Raja Ganapati, the divine king.

The Lord has a solar aura around his crown, beautifully inlaid jewelry, Tripunda and Trishula marks on his forehead, and colorfully embellished attire.

The vegetation and floral ornamentation of his aureole give it a grand appearance, complemented by the Simhasana- throne with lion foot base and Kirtimukha on top of the aureole.

Ganesha’s Mushak is offered a separate pedestal, on which he sits with joined hands and a slightly open mouth, as if singing devotional verses in praise of his Lord.

The brilliance of colorful inlay pieces and the timeless strength and luster of brass combine in this composition, making it a powerful vision of Ganesha in any space.

Ganesha: The Remover of Obstacles

Lord Ganesha, also known as Ganapati, is one of the most widely revered deities in the Hindu pantheon. Son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, he is depicted with an elephant's head, symbolizing wisdom, understanding, and strength. Ganesha's pot belly represents his capacity for limitless abundance, and his large ears embody his ability to listen compassionately to the prayers and concerns of his devotees. His broken tusk, often held in his trunk, is said to have been broken while writing the Mahabharata, highlighting his role as the patron of scribes and scholars. He is also associated with new beginnings, success, and prosperity, making him a popular deity to invoke before any significant undertaking. Many stories and myths surround Ganesha, highlighting his playful yet powerful nature, his intelligence and his unwavering devotion to his parents. One popular tale tells of Ganesha's circumambulation of the world on his mouse Vahana, highlighting his playful nature and spiritual mastery.

The Symbolism of the Throne and Inlay Work

The ornate throne on which Ganesha is seated further underscores his regal status. The intricate detailing and inlaid precious and semi-precious stones enhance the statue's majestic appearance, representing the divine richness and beauty of the deity. The colorful mosaic work on the throne and the statue itself adds vibrancy and depth, transforming the piece into a spectacular showpiece. The materials and intricate designs are not simply aesthetic choices; they hold deep cultural and symbolic meaning, representing wealth, good fortune, and the divine energies Ganesha embodies. The inclusion of the mouse, Ganesha's Vahana or mount, symbolizes humbleness and the ability to overcome even the smallest obstacles with the help of the Lord. This perfectly complements the grandeur of the throne and stature of Ganesha.
