The son of Rudra is worshipped as Lord Kartikeya or Murugan. He is described as having the color of Kumkuma or vermillion on his body and is the leader of the army of Devas. He carries the Vel or spear given to him by his mother Goddess Parvati as a symbol of Apara Shakti or endless power. This Brass Vel with the sacred image of Tri-Pundra on one side, and Tamil Om on the other side, both symbols associated with Lord Shiva, is a symbol of the combined blessings of Hara-Parvati to their child. The Vel also has a sacred Purna Kalash at the junction of the Vel and stand and a Lotus bloom just above it signifying the power of wisdom. This Vel is worshipped as the holy weapon as well as the proxy of Lord Kartikeya.

The Divine Spear of Victory

Invoke the power and divine presence of Lord Kartikeya, the Hindu god of war and victory, with this magnificent brass Vel. Standing at an impressive 74 inches, this imposing spear is not merely an artifact but a conduit to the divine, a symbol of strength, courage, and unwavering resolve. Crafted with meticulous care and traditional artistry in India, this Vel is a testament to the enduring legacy of Hindu craftsmanship and devotion. The Vel, meaning "spear" or "lance" in Tamil, is the primary weapon of Lord Kartikeya, also known as Murugan or Skanda. Legend tells that the Vel was gifted to him by his mother, Goddess Parvati, to vanquish the demon Surapadman, who had terrorized the celestial realms. The Vel represents divine knowledge, spiritual power, and the eradication of ego and ignorance. Its piercing capability signifies the ability to cut through illusion and darkness, leading one towards enlightenment and victory over inner and outer obstacles. This particular Vel, rendered in lustrous brass, captures the essence of this divine weapon, embodying its formidable presence and sacred significance.

A Symbol of Auspiciousness and Protection

The intricate design of this brass Vel draws inspiration from natural motifs, with the spearhead elegantly fanning out into a lotus-like form. The lotus, a sacred symbol in Hinduism, represents purity, beauty, and spiritual awakening, blooming forth from muddy waters to reach for the sun. The detailed etching along the edges of the spearhead adds a touch of regal splendor, while the subtly etched three horizontal lines and the 'Om' symbol on the blade are profound representations of Lord Shiva, Kartikeya's father, and the primordial sound of the universe, respectively. The ornate, bulbous motif where the spearhead meets the shaft further enhances its aesthetic appeal, hinting at the divine energy contained within. This striking piece is ideal for placement in temples, homes, or any sacred space, serving as a powerful talisman for protection and a focal point for prayer and meditation. Its substantial size ensures it commands attention and radiates an aura of strength and spiritual authority, making it a truly remarkable addition to any devotional practice or sacred collection.
