Sculpted in ritually pure Panchaloha, this unique image of Chakrathallavar (Sudarshana Chakra in an anthropomorphic form) on one side and the ferocious Sri Narasimha on the other, a powerful object in Tamil Vaishnava temples.

Also known as Sudarshan Perumal, the discus of Sri Vishnu takes a divine aspect in this icon, worshiped alongside the image of Vishnu-Narayana.

The reverse of the image displays the lion-headed Lord as “Yoga-Narasimha”, raised on a seat held on the hoods of Adi Shehsa.

Together, the two divine deities represent the supreme and swift protection bestowed by Vishnu.

The circular aura marked by fiery motifs is placed on inverted louts and balanced on the heads of two roaring lions, elevating the divine icon to mark its sacredness.

A Celestial Display of Divine Power

This exquisite bronze statue captures the awe-inspiring manifestation of Lord Vishnu as Sudarshan, a powerful avatar embodying divine energy and cosmic order. The intricate craftsmanship of Panchaloha, a sacred alloy of five metals, imbues this piece with a timeless radiance and spiritual significance. The vibrant golden hue of the bronze reflects the divine effulgence of the deity, making it a truly captivating centerpiece for any sacred space or collection.

The Sudarshan Chakra: Symbol of Cosmic Authority

The Sudarshan Chakra, Vishnu's divine discus, is a potent symbol of righteousness, protection, and the cyclical nature of time. In this magnificent sculpture, the Chakra forms a halo around the central image of Vishnu, adorned with lotus motifs, representing purity and spiritual awakening. The star within the Chakra signifies the seven celestial bodies and the cosmic balance that Vishnu maintains. The entire composition evokes the divine Sudarshan Chakra's immense power to vanquish evil and uphold dharma. The Lord himself is depicted with multiple hands, each holding a celestial weapon or bestowing blessings, showcasing his omnipotence and benevolent nature. ––––––––––––––––––

The Narasimha Connection: A Fierce Protector

The presence of Narasimha, the man-lion avatar of Vishnu, woven into the symbolism suggests the fierce protective aspect of the divine. Lord Narasimha emerged from a pillar to protect his devotee Prahlada from the tyrannical demon king Hiranyakashipu, who had a boon that rendered him invincible to men, animals, and weapons. This powerful narrative underscores Vishnu's commitment to his followers and his unwavering stance against injustice. The inclusion of this motif within the Sudarshan depiction highlights Vishnu's multifaceted nature as both the preserver and the destroyer of evil. The lions supporting the base of the statue further reinforce this fierce yet protective energy, symbolizing courage and the taming of primal forces.

Crafted with Devotion and Tradition

This statue is a testament to the rich artistic heritage of India, meticulously crafted by skilled artisans using traditional methods. The Panchaloha alloy, revered in Hindu traditions, is believed to possess inherent spiritual properties, enhancing the sanctity of the idol. The detailed rendering of the divine form, the intricate patterns on the Chakra, and the majestic base all speak to a profound understanding of both artistry and spirituality. This piece serves not only as an object of devotion but also as a beautiful work of art that brings the divine presence into your home, radiating peace, protection, and spiritual harmony.
