This exquisite stone sculpture depicts Garuda, the celestial eagle, in a posture of humble reverence. His incredible speed and valor allowed him to overcome formidable obstacles, including the gods themselves, and fulfill his oath, thus earning his divine status and becoming the devoted vehicle of Vishnu.
