Ganesha: The Remover of Obstacles

This exquisitely crafted stone sculpture presents Ganesha, the beloved Hindu deity revered as the remover of obstacles, the patron of arts and sciences, and the deva of intellect and wisdom. He is prominently seated, emanating an aura of tranquility and auspiciousness. Each detail, from his gentle expression to his symbolic implements, speaks to his multifaceted nature. Its origin is linked to a tale of Shiva, who demanded proof of devotion from a demon named Jalandhara. The demon, unable to offer anything else, presented himself as food. Shiva, impressed by this selfless act, transformed the demon's face into the Kirtimukha, a guardian against malice.
