This produce of the Swamimalai region, the ancient home of bronze workmanship, has been handpicked for the unique iconography. The beauteous features of the typical Swamimalai number are not amiss - the elaborately engraved crown that towers over Her head, the sharp contours of the countenance, and the superbly replete shringar that true devotees could not imagine their Devi without. What sets this one apart is the exquisite peacock that She is seated on, the flawless engraving on its skin and ample plumage, the majesty of its stature.

The peacock has inspired generation after generation of Indian artisans. From ancient Indian art to the port-folio of the contemporary artisan, this charming motif is in profusion everywhere. This one that Devi Saraswati is seated on has its own shringar, supremely lifelike eyes, and a plumage that has taken an eye-watering degree of skill to fashion. A curvaceous sprig of vine descends from the beak of the peacock right down to the pedestal that supports the composition. The same is a thrice-layered structure comprising of first, from top downwards, a freshly blooming lotus, second an inverted lotus with gently twisting petals, and finally an engraved panel of lotus petals. Such is the finesse of this work of art that it would fill your space with divinity and calm.
