This intricately crafted statue, available in our Brass Statues collection, serves as a powerful reminder of the unity of all things. Standing at 10 inches tall, 6.5 inches wide, and 5.5 inches deep, this piece is rendered in brass.

The Embodiment of Oneness

This awe-inspiring brass statue depicts a powerful deity which combines both the God Shiva and his consort, Parvati, into a single form. The deity is a representation of the inseparability of the masculine and feminine principles, symbolizing that these forces are inseparable for both creation and existence. The right half of the deity represents Shiva, the god of destruction and regeneration. The left half depicts Parvati, the embodiment of love, fertility, and devotion. Together, they represent the perfect harmony and balance within the universe.

Mythological Significance

The emergence of the Ardhanarishvara form is often linked to tales of Sati, Parvati’s previous incarnation. In one narrative, Shiva, distraught over Sati’s self-immolation, withdraws from the world, leaving it imbalanced. To restore cosmic equilibrium, Sati is reborn as Parvati, determined to win Shiva's affection. Her unwavering devotion and intense penance finally move Shiva, leading him to incorporate her into his very being, creating the Ardhanarishvara form. This union highlights the power of devotion and the essential role of the divine feminine in balancing the masculine.

Features of the Statue

The statue is crafted from brass. The right side of the statue features Shiva's attributes. Shiva holds his trident, the Trishula, as well as Damaru. The left side features Parvati’s adornments. Note the fine detail in the jewelry, clothing, and facial features. The statue rests on a base depicting a lion.

A Symbol of Harmony

Invite the energy of Ardhanarishvara into your space. This statue is an inspiring piece for meditation or simply as a striking artistic statement. Let it serve as a daily reminder of the interconnectedness of all things, the power of balance, and the eternal dance of creation and destruction.

How to keep a Brass statue well-maintained?

Brass statues are known and appreciated for their exquisite beauty and luster. The brilliant bright gold appearance of Brass makes it appropriate for casting aesthetic statues and sculptures. Brass is a metal alloy composed mainly of copper and zinc. This chemical composition makes brass a highly durable and corrosion-resistant material. Due to these properties, Brass statues and sculptures can be kept both indoors as well as outdoors. They also last for many decades without losing all their natural shine.

Brass statues can withstand even harsh weather conditions very well due to their corrosion-resistance properties. However, maintaining the luster and natural beauty of brass statues is essential if you want to prolong their life and appearance.

  • The best and simplest way to maintain a brass statue is to clean it at least twice a week using a soft cloth or cotton rag. This will prevent dust from accumulating on the surface. Dusting is especially important for outdoor statues since it is prone to dust accumulation much more than indoors.

  • To give a natural shine and luster to the statue, you may apply coconut or olive oil using cotton on every portion. You can use a toothbrush to get to the small crevices but do not be too harsh. This will make the brass statue appear fresh and new with a polished look.

  • In case you have a colored brass statue, you may apply mustard oil using a soft brush or clean cloth on the brass portion while for the colored portion of the statue, you may use coconut oil with a cotton cloth.

Brass idols of Hindu Gods and Goddesses are especially known for their intricate and detailed work of art. Nepalese sculptures are famous for small brass idols portraying Buddhist deities. These sculptures are beautified with gold gilding and inlay of precious or semi-precious stones. Religious brass statues can be kept at home altars. You can keep a decorative brass statue in your garden or roof to embellish the area and fill it with divinity.
