The pallav is really grand not only for its weave but for the range of themes that are depicted on it. The most important theme is that of the Raslila where the love theme of Krishna and Radha is depicted. This is called the eternal love in the Indian literature surpassed by any other kind of love. Another theme that is woven is that of Krishna as the eternal musician with the flute and standing in his cross-legged posture. The maternal love of Yasoda and Krishna is depicted also on the Pallav.
A must possess sari for its symbolic appeal and also its grandeur.
