The border also has a chain stitch in white and golden color threads. The uniqueness of the stitch is a series of pearly and golden color beads stitched to form the outline of the creeper pattern on the border. The pallav is very elaborate with the same stitch forming large kalash patterns. The kalash is a traditional symbol of the Indian religious life depicting a pot with mango leaves and coconut. It is the symbol of fertility and prosperity in the Hindu way of life. All along the kalash patterns are the outline of white and golden beads. There are white thread tassels at the end of the pallav. The beads in white and golden make the sari an excellent formal wear.
