The elegant black shawl is woven from raffal, a machine spun wool, derived from merino sheep. It is then embroidered with a beautiful floral motif the colour scheme of which is most aesthetic. The black base is livened up by a colourful small motif having two flowers, pink and orange, a cluster of yellow leaves at the base and a prominent green leaf at the pinnacle. Since it contains many colours, the overuse of this floral design could have turned the effect from bright to gaudy. Hence, it is sparsely scattered. On a golden brown stem run flowers of blue, pink and orange colours with intermittent shaded green leaves, and this makes the exquisitely colourful border. It reminds one of the lush gardens of the Kashmir valley, where flowers of every hue grow. A straight and a meandering line of chains keep the floral vine in check. On the two vertical ends this border is extended by a row of three petalled daisies and a leaf clover alternately, joined by a continuous running line.
The colours promise to spread joy in every heart.
