Sourced from the rocky terrain of Ladakh, Pashmina is a fine quality wool. Pashmina products have been associated with royalty and luxury since time immemorial. From pherans, scarves, and shawls, a lot of accessories are made from this rare quality wool.
Multiple pain staking processes are involved in creating Pashmina products, be it procuring the wool, processing it, spinning it into yarn, or embroidering patterns on it. Months of patience, dedication, and focus of so many people make Pashmina products invaluable.
The artisans have opted for Sozni embroidery to adorn this pure Pashmina shawl. Sozni is an ancient embroidery technique that hails from Kashmir and is performed by using tiny needles. It is done completely by hand and does not involve the use of any machinery. We can see a nature inspired theme used for the embroidery on the shawl. Peacock motifs along with other animal patterns in a myriad of colors have been embroidered in a bootidar pattern with butterflies sprinkled across the middle in between the borders. The different colours on a beige base create a beautiful contrast. The beige foundation, natural tones and imagery give a very earthy vibe to the piece.
This piece created from pure Pashmina wool, is the perfect addition to the wardrobe of those who love fashion born out of Indian heritage.
