Bandhini is the traditional technique followed in Gujarat where the cloth is tied on the area which is not to be colored and then dipped in the required color. The area which is tied remains undyed and forms a rhombus shaped pattern called the chungdi. Here the tie and dye is done on a crepe fabric which has a light crimpled texture. It is easy to carry and maintain.

The sari is in a double shade of yellow and red. The body is in yellow color with zari grids all over the body. The border is in red color with tie and dye done on it. The pallav is also in a contrasting red color with large and small tie and dye patterns in abstract geometrical shapes done on it.

Truly exemplifies the richly cultural life of Gujarat.
