Introduction
Biology instincluding science studies life and livin organisms, including their physical structure, chemical processes, molecular interactions, physiological mechanisms, development and evolution. It was Aristotle (384-322 BC) who contributed most extensively to the development of biology. Truly speaking, Biology began to quickly develop and grow with Anton van Leeuwenhoek's dramatic improvement of the microscope. It was then that scholars discovered spermatozoa, bacteria infusoria and diversity of microscopic life. Advances in microscopy also had a profound impact on biological thinking. In the early 19th century, a number of biologists pointed to the central importance of the cell. Biology recognises the cell as the basic unit of life, genes as the basic unit of heredity and evolution as the engine that propels the creation and extinction of species. . of body and mind. The book contains useful and important topics like Defense against diseases, Immune system, AIDS, Disorders of nervous system, Psychological disorders, Hormone and vitamin deficiency diseases. Biotechnology and Dermatology questions have also been included for the benefit of students. The book is of immense use for the students and those preparing for medical entrance and other competitive examinations. I wish to acknowledge my sincere thanks to Dr. B.R. Singh, former HoD of Zoology, Bihar University and former Vice Chancellor, Bihar University; Dr. K.R. Singh, former Reader, L.S. College, Muzaffarpur; my elder brother Sh. Hare Ram Singh; my wife Mrs. M. Singh Bhargav, Abhishek and Rishabh for their valuable contribution in critical revision of the book and updating the multiple-choice questions. Suggestions for further improvement of the book will be highly appreciated.
About The Book
Biology is the scientific study of life and living organisms, from unicellular creatures (like amoeba, paramoecium) to the most complex living organisms (like man, monkey, dog etc.). In other words, Biology is the study of living organisms; their origins, structure, anatomy, morphology, physiology, behaviour, evolution and distribution. In fact, life is teeming in every corner of globe-from the frozen Arctics to the searing Sahara desert. This book presents multiple choice questions on various topics related to biological sciences and the same will be useful for students and aspirants of medical entrance and other competitive exams.
