The Bible includes various types of books, among them the romantic ""Song of Songs"", traditionally attributed to king Solomon. Love and sexual intimacy are its main themes, making it a favorite for many.
Many commentaries on the ""Song of Songs"" exist. but they are often lengthy and technical, making them hard for ordinary readers to access and understand. Smaller commentaries are usually part of multi-volume collections, which are also difficult to access. Hence, I decided to create a small, accessible booklet on the ""Song of Songs"" titled Addicted to Love. Its advantages include affordability, accessibility, and the ability to be read in one sitting. The style is simple and relevant for busy readers who might otherwise remain unfamiliar with the Bible and its teachings. This booklet is straightforward, with only a few technical terms, and explains the text in a clear, literary-oriented manner rather than relying on allegorical or mystical interpretations.
This booklet is dedicated to my parents, who are linked to this poetic and romantic book. My father, a poet, passed away in 2012, and my mother, a devoted wife and lover of the Church, passed away in 2017. Dedicating this booklet to them is my tribute. I was asked to write a commentary on the ""Song of Songs"" for the Wald-Bulke Bible Bhashya (Hindi Bible Commentary), published in 2018. 1 wrote it in English, and it was later translated into Hindi. This booklet is a revised version of that text.
I hope you enjoy reading it. I am grateful to all who helped in its publication. May readers deepen their love for God, each other, and the Church.
