Preface By bringing out the Eleventh volume of the Agama-Kosha project, Kalpatharu Research Academy, Bangalore naturally feels grateful that the project has been brought nearer to completion. The other major project that the Academy undertook, namely Pratima-Kosha (Encyclopaedia of Indian Iconography) was completed in Six volumes, and the volumes have been warmly received by all students and scholars of Indian art.

Agama-Kosha is a project in twelve volumes and is intended to cover all aspects of temple culture, and in particular worship in temples. There is one more volume that will complete the project, and it is in the press and will soon see the light of the day.
