Book Description
The second section presented by T A Gopinatha Rao is an edited version of the Lecture series, given as part of the Sir Subramanya lyer lectures on the History of Sri Vaishnavas in the year 1917 December at Madras University. The chapters in this section forms the lecture series and presents the history of Vaishanavism based on iconographic and literary aspects based on the historical criticism upon the more or less florid and highly coloured accounts handed downto us regarding the lives of the Alvars and Acaryas.
A very detailed appendix of the contribution of Alwars in Sanskrit and Tamil in the chronological order of the different alwars has been given as a research source for further study.
