Book Description
About the Author
Bhaktivinoda Thakura was an Indian philosopher, saint, and spiritual reformer of Gaudīya Vaişņavism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. After the disappearance of Caitanya Mahāprabhu in the 16th century, various pseudo-sects and misinterpretations of Gaudīya Vaişņavism began to emerge. Many of these deviant sects strayed from the original teachings and practices, leading to confusion among devotees. Recognizing the dilution of Caitanya Mahāprabhu's teachings, he emerged as a crucial figure in the revival of authentic Gaudīya Vaişņavism by emphasising scriptural authority and the importance of pure devotion.

Preface
In presenting this work to the public, the publisher begs to announce that the author has in a brief compass tried to explain the main features of the Vaişņava Philosophy as taught in the School of Caitanya Mahaprabhu. Although it may appear at the outset to be very abstruse, the reader will attain a clear appreciation if he takes a little pain to study the subject carefully. The author has expressed his wishes to elucidate any portion which may appear to be inexplicit, and the publisher will always be glad to forward the author any reference directed to his address as below.

Introduction
Chaitanya Mahaprabhu: His Life and Precepts is one of the most significant books written by Bhaktivinoda Thakura even though it is not his magnum opus. This book holds significant value, especially in terms of its historical context and Bhaktivinoda's contribution to the revival of Gaudīya Vaişņavism and is one of the books he made great effort to send to Universities in the Western World like, Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, Berkeley, Chicago, and McGill.
