About the Book Bhagawan Sri Satya Sai Baba's sojourn on the planet earth for over eight decades is unique and unparallel in human history. Millions of devotees adored him as Swamy and Puttaparthy became an international spiritual centre. Devotees from all continents visited Bhagawan to share his love and soothe their nerves. Swamy demonstrated to the world that spirituality lies in serving others with love and concern. The author H.J. Dora came into Swamy's fold as early as 1966. He just then completed training in Indian Police Service and joined A.P. State, allotted to him. The author traces the gradual unfoldment of Swamy's mission and the various institutions created by Bhagawan over a period of time. As a witness and a participant of Sai's mission he narrates how Swamy's vision takes shape from time to time. The author also narrates his own evolution and inner transformation during these years he was with Bhagawan. Baba gave him enormous opportunities to move closely with him and this enabled the author to narrate the events as he saw them first hand. Bhagawan guided him both in his professional and personal life. He and his family received Bhagawan's grace in abundance all through this period. He rose to the position of Director General of Police, Andhra Pradesh which he served with distinction for more than five years. He later became a Member of the Central Vigilance Commission. New Delhi. He is currently Director in Sri Satya Sai World Foundation. The author firmly believes that love and service as stated by Bhagawan can only redeem mankind from the clutches of greed and grief and pave the way for ultimate bliss and peace.

Foreword The advent of Bhagawan Sri Satya Sai Baba varu is unique in many ways. Spanning over nearly nine decades, each and every fraction of second is spent with a great purpose. The sole and absolute resolve was to lift the man to divine level. His love, compassion and concern for mankind is unparallel in the annals of human history. In fact, his mission encompassed every caste, colour, creed and erased the man made barriers among the countries, enabling the human community to come together to practise unity, purity, and divinity. Swamy has demonstrated to the world, the efficacy of service and power of love that can bring about transformation in man vis-a-vis the world. Swamy established that spirituality is not a mere subject for talking but to be translated into service activity that can benefit the society in a multi-dimensional way. His emphasis on Education, Medicare, Water resulted in monumental institutions that guide the human race and help in building a Noble society and bring peace to the world. Thousands of people both men and women took part in the divine mission initiated by Swamy and the chosen few had the good fortune to participate in all major projects directly, with close proximity to Swamy. Sri H.J. Dora is one such person who strictly adhered to principles of Sai in personal, professional and spiritual dynamics and dimensions of life. Needless to mention, he received the grace of Swamy in abundance. This book, 'Glorious Moments with God' reveals how devotion and grace go together in harmony. As the title suggests, the Moments with God are Glorious, indeed! This book is the confluence of history, theman-Godrelation, andthe divine love aspect of Swamy in full measure. As an young police officer, Sri H.J. Dora had first met Swamy in 1966 at a time when Sai vision was turning into a mission. The association gave him umpteen number of opportunities to directly part take in the divine mission. Each chance, strengthened his deep faith in Swamy and every practice moulded him into a top cop and a good human being. This book, I am sure, will be informative to the coming generations and inspire them to take the spiritual path and lead a meaningful, successful and spiritual life. I commend Sri H.J. Dora for the invaluable work he has done. I Pray, Swamy's grace continues to shower on Sri H.J. Dora and he continues to be in service of Swamy.

Preface Sri Satya Sai Baba is not another saint - nor is he another God man. In fact one cannot categorise a divine being. Bhagawan or Swamy as he is known to his devotees - was a mystery initially to all his family members, and later to all his close devotees who gathered around him. His parents and other family members had no clue about their son and were very much worried and upset with the unusual behaviour of the boy. They were totally upset when Swamy stopped going to school in Uravakonda where he was staying with his teacher brother. He left the house and declared that he has a mission and his devotees are waiting and his attachment to his family will not be there any more. Swamy stayed with an elderly couple who by then had great affection and regard for him. By then swami was also performing some miracles and this drew lot of his schoolmates and elders of Uravakonda towards him. Both the parents came from Puttaparthi on hearing that swami has left his brother's house and he is staying in another place. They could not comprehend or believe in what Swamy was telling about himself. Swamy even at that stage was repeatedly saying that he is Sai Baba of Shiridi again reincarnated to complete his mission of protecting the devotees and help mankind tread the righteous path to Godhood. A young boy in an interior village saying such things made no sense for them and it could be true if any one of us were in their position at that time. This is the reason why people say the beginnings of a Mahapursh and that of a mighty river cannot be understood easily. When we go to the snow clad areas of Himalayan hill ranges in summer we see the snow melting into droplets of water; we fail to visualise that these drops will take the shape of the mighty river Ganges spanning the best part of India, quenching the thirst of millions of people and animals and birds and enriching the soils which yield food required for human sustenance. So is the case with the mahapursh, says our folklore. The origins will be humble, no advantage whatsoever about the birth or the birth place, which in this case happens to be a poor, desolate inaccessible village on the bank of Chitravathi river. Staying in such a remote village without any resources Swamy was saying that he would commence his work from there and his message would reach all parts of the World. Swamy also said that even the wisest of human beings cannot understand or comprehend his glory and it is futile to dwell on this. He wanted people who came to him to witness the events as they unfold and enjoy his proximity.
