In the modern world Astrology holds the unique place of importance being a noble science and dynamically spreading from day to day. The widely spreading interest may be scribed to the fact that all people are very much desirous to know about their well being, health, longevity, prosperity, finance and fortune. Such people have complete faith in astrology.

As Astrology is a rare divine gift given to us by our revered ancient saints, which they gained by practising austerity and worship from Almighty God. Some people are of the opinion that planets and stars have no influence on the individual life as planets and stars lie at great distance from our mother earth. The sun itself but a star and million miles away from our mother earth, still in day to day life anybody can feel the influence of the sun. In the morning its rays are oblique, and we feel cold and want to bask in the sun. We feel immense pleasure while basking in the sun. The sun beams become direct at noon and as such we feel hot and discomfort. In the dusk and night sun rays become obscure and as such darkness and serenity prevail every where.

The Physical effects of the sun are much more potent and evident which cause the changing of the seasons. The cardinal signs e.g. Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn mark the commencement of the season of spring, summer, autumn and winter. The fixed signs e.g. Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius, similarly mark the centre of the seasons and mutable signs e.g. Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces mark the end of seasons aforesaid. Even initial juic juice of plants flourishes in favourable seasons and on the other hand hot climate saps one's vitality. We can see the effects of the sun and moon upon the waters in pulling up the tide. We can't ignore such numerous effect of the sun, which we feel in daily life. If the sun has such effect, then certainly the other planets and stars, which are the members of solar system can do effect and influence things upon this earth. On the other hand when certain significant configuration appeared in the heaven, there are some peculiar effects on animals and inanimates. That is why ancient scholars had a foundation for ascribing to every human being his sign and ruling planet in the universe. Therefore, general trend of the fate and destiny of the individual could be specified keeping in view the position of signs and stars that is why sun sign, star and configuration of planets. So therefore, there is no rhyme and reason in disbelieving astrology.

It has been proved beyond doubt on the basis of above facts that Astrology is a divine science and planets do effect the human life. Despite this truth, some people laugh on it, calling it a guess or blind faith, yet such people consult Astrologer when they feel the stings of misfortunes. Fear of future and fear of death is a great weakness of every man although all persons on this earth are aware of the fact that there is a fixed time of every birth and death, then why people don't believe that every happening, may be big or small is regulated or fixed by THE CREATOR. Seeing is believing and people daily watch the rising and setting of Sun and its affects. In summer, days are very hot but morning are pleasant. So, therefore, Astrology is the most useful science.

In Astrology the Zodiac is divided into twelve equal parts called the signs. There are nine planets (and more) which have greater influences on the human life and each of them has been assigned a particular sign. The moment a person is born, he is dominated by a certain principal planet and sign, called as his ruling planet and ruling sign. Every individual is thus governed by his principal planet and ruling sign besides other planets in a secondary way.
