A book about how a woman's simple desire changes from a dream into a challenge. How a not fit, rather fat woman(Me) prepared myself for the biggest physical, mental & emotional challenge that i would've ever faced in my life.
This book, is a translation of the thoughts and preparations that I had to undertake in order to bring a simple dream into reality.
It shares the experiences and difficulties I had to face during the 7 days of summiting the Uhuru peak.
We all can take up challenges that push us to the edges.
There are times when we don't wish to prove anything to anyone but to ourselves. Times when we want to see our limits and how far we can stretch.
I am not an avid reader, but I suggest that before we indulge into anything new in our lives that would make us question ourselves, we must make sure we are well aware and well read about it and know exactly what we are heading for before we end up getting surprised with what we get served with. Enjoy the read!!
I am inspired to write this book as a little guide to the 7 days Lemosho hike on what we all call "Mount Kilimanjaro" which is actually called the Uhuru peak... A lot of us have studied in school about Mount Kilimanjaro which is the highest peak in Africa Tanzania and to put it in correct words.. In Kilimanjaro! Yes.. Kilimanjaro is the name of a state with small towns and villages.. will get into this later as I start my journey but 1st I need to thank the source behind my will and energy to take up this challenge I had never thought would be something I would ever do in my life.. My inspiration behind this hike was Dirk. A mountain leader by choice and an enthusiastic entrepreneur by profession. All the credit goes to him as I would've never done this without an energy that I got directly/indirectly from him. Thank you, Dirk!
And the reason I am penning this down... yeah not literally but I know u got it... is because a very very close to my heart friend more than family asked me to do this even before I took my 1st step on the mountain, He said "Tripti this would be a dream for me to do and I know I would not do it.. you are going to do it and I am so jealous of you right now, but I want u to do this so I can see it through your eyes and experience" He was with me at every step of my journey... the last few words I heard from someone I love so dearly kept me going even during the most difficult times of those 7 days.. I kept telling myself... I need to finish this for Mahesh... as he wants to see it through my eyes!! Thank you, Mahesh Shenoy, for playing such an important role in this journey and giving me the strength all throughout the rocky, uneven, icy, oxygen less path!! Love u.
