Lokavidu is the fifth of the nine names of the Buddha like 1. Bhagava/the Exalted One. 2. Araham the Worthy One, 3. Sammasambuddhe/the Perfectly Enlightened One, 4 Sugato the Well-bourne, 5. Lokavidu/Knower of the world, 6. Anuttaro/the Unsurpassed, 7. Purisadammasaarathi/the Charioteer to tame the men, 8. Satthadevamanussanam/the Teacher of the Gods and men, and 9. Buddho the Enlightened One. This volume under this title will take the readers through the rounds of fourteen topics namely 1. Buddhist wave from East to the West, ii. Objective Questionnaire with answers, iii. Marathi Buddhists, iv. Dispute, v. Naming, vi. Dharma, vii. Teaching, viii. Devotion, ix. YV as Human Rights Defender, x. Ambedkar, Law and Indian Constitution, xi. Educational Vision of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, xii. Buddhist way of life, xiii. Challenges to the maintenance of World Peace and xiv. Anthology. The First topic deals with how the Buddha Dhamma was spread across the South, South-East, North and North-West through the efforts of the missionaries prepared by the Lokavidu and the Kings like Asoka, Mieukas, Milinda, Kanishka and Harsha, Udito etc. The second topic is concerned with the historical contributions of the rulers in the undivided Punjab from ancient to the modern day's (see the authors translation: Buddhism in Undivided Punjab as a translation of the English book of Hon'ble D. C. Ahir. The third topic is the Buddhists of Maharashtra and their socio-cultural and linguistic variations. The fourth topic describes naming and its significance according to the Buddhist thought. The fifth topic is the Truth of the Buddha-Word. The sixth topic is the teaching or discourses of the Buddha. The seventh one is related to the Buddha's mundane and supramundane doctrine of truths while the eighth one is highlighting the significance of Devotion in Buddhism. The Nineth one is on the issues of caste discrimination, child labour, bonded labour, Devadasi system. destitution of Dalits, massacre of Bangladesh Buddhist refugees in India, and Human Rights provisions globally propagated by YV against all social evils. The Tenth issue is on the constitution for the Indian Republic from the perspective of Dr. Ambedkar. The Eleventh subject is the Educational Vision of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar through the Dhammic and legal observations. The Twelfth topic is the Buddhist Way of Life whereas the Thirteenth is related to the Challenges to the maintenance of the World Peace and followed lastly by the fourteenth on the Anthology of Marathi, Hindi and English collections of philosophical and spiritual expressions of hymns, stanzas and lyrics on various themes. If any reader of this volume is inspired by any word, paragraph or line writ in this book then the author will receive his reward as his due. Last but not the least all the sources and authors who are quoted here and the efforts of the Publisher for bringing this to light are acknowledged with gratitude and any suggestion or correction will be considered as opportunity for the next reformulation of this work.
About The Book
This is a collection of lectures presented at the platform of world religions' forum arranged by the World Peace Organization of Korea known as the HWPL in 2023 on the topics such as Holy Book, God, Soul, Belief, Prayer, Science, Pilgrimage, Devotion, Nature, and so on, from a Buddhist point of view as well as of articles presented to the world Ambedkar Forum, London; Vietnam University and University of Arunachal Pradesh and brought them together here in a book form and now it is presented to the intelligent readers the world over to whom it will benefit and lovingly inspire as they will come across the Marathi dialect also. If this much happens then the author will get a fruit of his efforts also.
About The Author
The author C. D. Naik was born to a family of Dajiba and Sugandha Naik at Gondbori, Taluka Bhiwapur (earlier Umrer), Nagpur District in Maha-rashtra. He was influenced by the well-known Hindi writer and reputed scholar monk the Venerable Bhadant Anand Kausalyayan residing then at Deeksha Bhoomi, Nagpur and under his supervision he became a novice named Sumatipal at the age of in 1972 and an ordained monk called Chandra Bodhi in 1974 at Bodhgaya Thai Temple, Bihar. He worked in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra and initiated many families to the fold of Buddhism. He was sent as a Buddhist Missionary to England where he stayed for eight years. He did his M.Phil. Degree there at the Lancaster University. He travelled many countries in Europe, America, Canada in the West and Buddhist countries including Nepal in the East. He lived for 25 years at the birth place of Babasaheb Ambedkar and has been Professor, Dean, Kulguru, Registrar and Public Speaker and writer, researcher and supervisor associated with BANISS Institute, BRAUSS, DAVV, Indore, Vikram University, Ujjain, as well as Sagar, Nagpur and Amravati Universities as an Expert Member in Research and Recognition Committees and attended national and international universities' seminars, workshops and conferences in Delhi, Kolkata, Kathmandu and other universities at home and Yangoon Buddhist University abroad from time to time. He supervised 150 awarded M.Phil. dissertations, 50 Ph.D. theses and published about fifty books from national and international publishers.
