The entire globe is a piece of architectural marvel created by the sublime divine intelligence of the God Almighty. All mountains are colossal monuments of His sculptural grandeur. All forests are nothing else but His lively paintings pulsating with celestial charm and eloquent tranquillity. All animal kingdom is His endless saga of both tragic and comic drama in the universal theatre marked by the philosophy of living and dying in flesh and blood. All rivers and winds depict the musical and dancing glory conducted by Him in transcendence. The thunders of the skies and the roars of the vast and deep oceans are the orchestral compositions of our Emperor of this entire universe, both seen and unseen. The clouds, the lightning and the rainbows reveal the dreaming faculty of the Almighty. The birds and the flower buds and kids are the lovely lyrics of the Lord. The human life on this planet describes the intensely creative dramaturgical epic-splendour scripted by Him. So, even so, called lifeless phenomena in God's creation are charged with some sort of divine animation which is called "Chaitanya". This is a beautiful mystical aspect of universal creation which is described in the Vedas, the Upanishads and the Puranas of ancient Sanskrit literature of India. That is why the "Vishnu Sahasra Naama" declares that "Viswam" and "Vishnu" are synonyms. Even Western philosophers of Speculative school, like Immanuel Kant, Baruch Spinoza and Henri Bergson spoke of such a universal mystical force in existence in the creation that is before them, in their idiom. In the same way some works of the English poets like William Shakespeare, William Wordsworth, John Keats, S.T. Coleridg transcendental philosophers are endowed with a unique mystical faculty of subtle perceptibility to realise and describe these esoteric phenomena in the divine creation. In the ancient Sanskrit literature, the mountains are defined as the breasts of the Mother Earth (Parvata Stana Mandala) that suckles various creatures in the world, and the rivers are construed as the breast-milk to nourish those creatures. The names of many mountains are in the masculine gender, and those of all streams are in the feminine gender. Of all the mountains, Himalava is considered the supreme one. Of all the rivers, the Ganges or the river Ganga is adored as the Holiest of the Holy. Even in Rigveda, we can find the mention of the Ganga ("Imam may Gange, Yamuna, Saraswati --" R.V.-X:75-5). In Satapatha Brahmana, Kaatyaayana Srouta Sutra, Manu Smriti and other ancient texts, the Ganga is eulogized as a holy river. In the great Itihaasa, "The Mahaa Bharata" the Daana or donation of the water of the Ganga is extolled as supreme one among all Daanas. In various main Puranas like Vishnu Purana, Brahmaanda Purana, Padma Purana, Matsya Purana, Narada Purana, Skanda Purana and so on the holiness and excellence of the Ganga are repeatedly praised. The Ganga is declared to be the subtle singular form of all the Gods and all the Vedas ("Sarva Deva mayee Gangaa, Sarva Veda Svaroopinee"). In the Bhagavad Geeta, Lord Sri Krishna proclaims that He is the Gangaa in all the holy rivers ("Srotasaamasmi Jaahnavee" B.G.-X:31). He reiterates the same declaration in the "Bhagavata Mahaa Purana" (Teerthaanaam Srotasaam Gangaa" XI:16-20). All these ancient texts, again and again, proclaim the supreme holiness of the Ganga to vindicate Her celestial origin. The Ganges is a constant binding factor of the Holy Trinity of Brahma the Creator, Vishnu the Preserver, and Maheswara the Withdrawer of the entire creation.
MYDAVOLU VENKATA SESHA SATHYANARAYANA who writes with the penname 'mahathi' was born on 12th June 1958 in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, India. He is a postgraduate in law and once a practising lawyer in Nellore and later an officer in Central Industries Ministry. He headed the Law section and won all cases for his Department. His poetic language and command over English language brought him many commendations from his bosses. He retired from Government service in 2014 as Superintendent of Salt in Gazetted rank. His earlier poetry, mostly free verse, veered around Leftist ideology. His earlier works viz. Golden Lotus, Plastic Faces, Wheels, and Just Human were mostly on burning social issues and human psychology. He translated Mr Perugu Ramakrishna's poems as Rosette.
