Wing Commander (Retd.) Shashikant Oak of Pune has a great contribution in bringing the Naadi palm leaf based astrological system into limelight. For about past 18 years, he has been conducting an original research on the aforesaid system. His research includes various scientific angles, and has given the whole subject a new dimension. To conduct the original research, he has visited almost all the Naadi centers in India during the course of last 18 years, apart from individually meeting a thousands of persons to take on account the firsthand experiences. He has also presented a detailed paper called 'Comparative Study: Nostradamus and Naadi Granthas.'
This revised and enlarged edition includes fresh astonishing experiences such as:- readings from blank paper, appearance of vibhooti upon the palm leaf, shocking episodes of Group Caption Rakesh Nanda throwing light on the ancient Maharishi's wisdom available in India. First time more than 220 addresses from all over Indian states have been presented in alphabetical order.
In June 1994, when I called on the Executive Editor of Sahyadri, a Pune weekly and gave him the Marathi translation of Sri. Agastya Naadi prediction, he suggested to contribute an article for his weekly. Later I also inquired from some persons whether it was advisable to write a book on that topic. I received a number of letters from readers of my article published in Sahyadri's 1ª August' 94 issue. I then felt that a magazine - article was too short. A number of other questions arising in the minds of readers ought to be answered. That led me to write the present book. Now, while presenting this book to the readers, I am satisfied that I have tried my best to answer a number of questions arising about Naadi Astrology.
For readers who would like to go to the South to obtain Naadi- readings, I have given detailed information about the titles of days, months, years, nakshatras etc. in the Tamil almanac. For undertaking recommended Shanti-Deeksha rituals, I have given the addresses of temples of nine planets. A map showing the route to reach there and some relevant information about lodging, transport, buses, and railways in Chennai is also provided. I am neither a chum nor a relation of any of the Naadi-readers. However, because I have been a frequent, inquisitive and interested visitor to the Naadi Centres in various parts of India, I have cordial relations with Naadi-readers and their staff.
I myself have not studied the science of Astrology. Consequently readers are requested not to involve me as their intermediary. Kindly don't send me your thumb impressions, other particulars about your life, money etc. with a request to obtain the English translations of your Naadi predictions. I don't undertake the responsibility of attending to correspondence of that nature.
