Book Description
About the Book

This volume, the third in a series, brings together the speeches and writings of Dr. Sarvepalli Radha-krishnan from July 1959 to May 1962, when he took over as President of the Republic of India.

Dr. Radhakrishnan focusses on a wide variety of subjects ranging from science and religion to democracy and human rights. He speaks with meditative introspection about the world of the spirit; and with passionate intensity about the world of today and tomorrow. His words bear the impress of his personality and thought.

One task for which Dr. Radha-krishnan is uniquely gifted is the vital one of interpreting the East to the West and the West to the East. He is as much at home with Western philosophy as with Eastern meta-physics. With words that cannot fail to inspire, he uncovers the springs of Indian tradition and thought to enrich the modern mind.

Dr. Radhakrishnan has been a don, a philosopher, a diplomat and a statesman with equal success; and the many facets of his rich and powerful mind are reflected in these pages.

The contents in this volume have been grouped under five heads-International Affairs, Education and Culture, Philosophy and Religion, General and Prefatory Introductions and Messages.
